CPU usage.
I'm having an issue with this update. The CPU usage is sky high. Any one else having the same issue? Just ran version 1.7 as comparison with no issues. Kaspersky at highest heuristic says no problems. Downloaded from NOPY.
Edit: MEGA download identical result. Deleted.

I cant believe Avira or any Scanner is still used. Windows Defender is fully sufficient, if you install a other AVSoftware you close maybe, under circumstances a window in your system. for the price is that you blow a gigant hole in it. The definitions of the AVSoftware can be up to date, but the engines oft he Scanners are hopeless outdatet.

I use since 2010 no AV - besides Windows Defender - scriptblocker like umaritx, and brain of corse. Never had problems with maleware, or suspicious behavior from my PC.

Also I deleted it, and after a computer restart it tried to restore happenstance-32.exe for no reason at all.

Your AV probably prevented you from deleting it while it was 'quarantined'.

No, I restored it out of the quarantine and added it to the exceptions. Played it, and then wanted to delete it which Windows prevented me from doing, until I used a third party programm to overwrite it.

The problem with the AV software is not the detection of the maleware, but the scanning of this. If you run a scan on this the malware can use the engine of the AVSoftware as a jumpingboard into the system. Like i said, you close a window and blow up a complete wall in your system with the installation of the AVS. As *better* the so called protection is, as deep the engine diggs into your system - roughly spoken. And this is the problem, maleware is using your voluntarily drilled hole in your system with the installation of the AVS. Winddows Defender is better/saver or whatever you want to call it, because its completly designed to fits into windows, third party AVS dont fit and is the weak point

a Trojan with BTC mining ability (this is why CPU's use can skyrocket), when
Happenstance.exe is OK. Guess, uploader has decided to boost up income..

I can't believe I am typing this but this update could do with less sex and more plot progression. Especially since it was practically the same scene repeated over and over in different rooms.

I was actually thinking that to myself. I don't understand the point of an entire day of sex. Isn't there a major threat right now? Isn't there more investigating that could be done? Even if that's being handled by other characters, shouldn't there at least be less of a lackadaisical attitude and more caution? I don't mind the sex at all, but it seems like nothing else is happening (except the very final dialogue right at the end).

In both cases the AV points to the 32Bit laucher but not to the normal exe. Two Games, two Devs, on one day, both compromised? I am here over 3 years and have never faced a malware, maybe i am just lucky with my games. Even the Renpy Saveditor was flagged as maleware.

Also my problem with this game/distribution package.
I saw in another game that there is apparently an issue with the latest RenPy version. At least that is what the developer of Lockdown said, after he got notified of some problems with his distribution. He got rid of it, with compiling his game with an older RenPy version. Perhaps the same problem with this game?

That's not normal. Mine deleted with no issue.

The fact that the game literally offers the real name you have attached to your computer as the default name for your character in-game got me a little bit suspicious...

I always run these games through firejail and deny network and anything but the game directory / renpy config files.

I make a script called run.sh and put it in the game folder and start that script to run the game:

what I really don't like in this is that game attaches you to your GF whom you can't let go

Strongly agree with this; if the game is going to force the player into a relationship with one character then we shouldn't get punished for seeking relationships elsewhere. The ability to have those other relationships or a harem should honestly be baked into games that force a LI on the player.
