I don't understand the talk about money and adding ways to get more. The suggestion of finding some on the ground occasionally is great, however. Maybe an option to give some to Lin so she can go buy whatever she wants without asking.

Even if there are repairs or more upgrades I still wouldn't see the need for more money.
I have $13000 right now just from the bar. I was advertising but don't think I am now. I've never
sold any pinups. So I guess I don't see why I would need more. Even with options or repairs the bar
brings in plenty, it seems.
I'll have to go re-read Runey's post as maybe I missed something.

How can I add this if im playing it with joiplay?

I don't play Ren'Py games on my Android phone but my understanding if playing using Joiplay is to use Rar for Android and extract the files in the same folder that Harem_Hotel.exe is located, which should be much similar to how you updated 0.15 to 0.151.1 first (required).

Did you not invest in the Bar ASAP to increase your weekly cash flow?
Even in my mod where I give you "an inheritance of $6K from your dead grandfather" at the beginning of the game, I still drop hints to invest in the Bar ASAP, besides a funny in-game Money Cheat that gives you up to $500 each time.

I actually had changed the Money Cheat from what Lain originally had that would give you $99,999 anytime you used it.
I changed it to the $6K inheritance at the beginning of the game to minimize the grind (doing minor things to pass the time for the weekly payouts) so the player can focus more on the story hence also the hints about getting/upgrading the Bar too.

I did keep an in-game cheat but made it a random amount of $50, $100 or $500 for those that just really needed to fill buckets of fap juice from the extra outfits.

I hate it when people like this manage to get on just the right nerve to bring me out of lurking. I was all set not to say another word so as to keep from initiating another unwanted exchange (those exchanges are just a part of who I am, the only way to avoid them is to not speak at all, so that is what I did).

Runey Here's the thing, and I am going to be honest, I do see some of it in myself, I just have a reality/fiction disconnect that allows me to ignore any potential real world parallels in fiction. There are two distinct groups I am seeing here that are complaining, not necessarily mutually exclusive between each other.

Some people don't like to be lectured on LGBT/race issues in their fiction and this Elven slavery portion does draw some parallels to the slavery of black people from the 1800s and before in the real world, not to mention the still problematic cases of illegal real world slavery. Then there's the parallels to the LGBT rights issue in some of the other plot lines. For me personally, I could see myself getting annoyed with it if I didn't maintain a disconnect between reality and fiction, but this is only because I already see A LOT of it in the real world because the media keeps beating both topics over the head in my country ad infinitum as if nothing else is going on in the world. Even as someone who is LGBT, I have had enough of hearing about it in the real world to the point that I am almost entirely opposed to my own community, just open a dialogue with the people in power and pass some laws to give exactly the same rights as everyone else and be done with it. I come to fiction to escape that, so to bring those real life issues into the fiction I chose to escape with is the problem there. However, I personally don't see those real world issues, I see Elven slavery and Android (or whatever) rights, which are not the same due to my disconnect. This was just the part I could see in myself that seems to be an issue with the negative reviews and complaints.

Then there is a prevalence on F95 of people looking for a quick fap, that has been a major thing since AT LEAST my first day here. It is so bad that entire wars break out over the 'no sexual content' tag. It is second in severity only to the great NTR wars the site sees on occasion. Having a long story is a problem to people like this because it gets in the way of what they see as the main focus, the sex. They would be more than happy with the entire story stripped out of the game, leaving just enough to make sense of the sex part.

I'm going to be blunt, these people, in both of the above groups, are not going to be of help to you. They will only serve to annoy you, to cause you stress, and eventually to cause you to burn out in a way that kills the game. You are better off ignoring them.


The connection isn't in the game, it's in the tags. People who see the slave tag, for example, expect to be the slaver, not to fight against said slavers. So, when the game says slavery is bad, they may see that as a kink lecture about how the kink is bad, not about how actual slavery is bad like the game is telling us. This is coming from someone who likes that kink myself and was drawn to this game because of that tag, one of my favorite game types is slave training, but my reaction to the game was positive despite the opposition of slavery instead of being the slaver.

Yup I want to dominate the elven queen and make her my slave and not whatever the fuck we are doing

I'm on day 394 and haven't used any mods or cheats. I did add the bar pretty much as soon as possible
and don't forget, you have the trip w Kali which gives you a bunch of money. Yes, I bought the things
you mentioned. The sports day in the bar helps a lot it seems as well.

You're adamant that Harem Hotel is a porn game, though it has never been one, and has never been advertised as such. A porn game refers to the existence of a game being solely for the porn. It refers to a game you open up to solely to fap to. That is not the case for Harem Hotel, as this is an Adult Visual Novel. Honey Select is a porn game. I use a porn game to generate visuals and add stories on top of them. This is why this thread has the Visual Novel tag on it. There are certainly elements of porn in this game, which is something I'm happy to keep including, but this is why people are responding to your posts.

To me, your words read similar to "I watch Game of Thrones for the porn, not the plot" because it has tits and sex scenes in it. But that series is written differently, it doesn't have porn acting or silly plot lines introduced only to make sex happen. If you want to watch GoT for the porn, that's fine, but that's not why the show exists. Neither GoT or Harem Hotel fit into a black and white outlook on porn where if it has some in it, then it is immediately only just porn. I hope you understand what I mean.

I have enough money that I have no idea how much I make a week, rarely pay it any attention. I look at the bar thing occasionally, but only in so much that I look at which bonuses I got that week, like the advertising, and how Moon and the bartender do. I assume it is about the same...

I don't have as much money as I would like for the goals I have, but for a starting fund, you would never need to worry about money again. XD
