VN Ren'Py Harem Hotel [v0.17.2] [Runey]

To be frank, I don't always want to stay in the indie dev scene. If possible, I'd like to hire a team and develop a company. If this porn game thing keeps going anyway. That's why I would like to use Unity or UE4.

I don't really see what one has to do with the other. Which engine you use is down to the kind of game you're making rather than whether you have a team or not. Unity doesn't magically start to be a good choice for a VN just because you're not working alone.

Each tool has its plus and minuses. Renpy has a lot less overhead then Unity or UE4 and as it stands Harem Hotel just doesn't need that overhead. Now if you could wander around each room ala RealMyst then it would make sense to used such a tool. Otherwise you wind up with a game like Something Unlimited which could have more easily been down in Renpy then the engine it does use.

Just because one can doesn't mean one should.

I should mention I have seen games languish or have cross platform partly because they tried to go the Unity route. Rack 2 case in point.

It's a toggle, but each time you take them you gain 1 obedience.
Also, some events (like the fridge cleaning & room cleaning & spanking etc) change depending on whether or not she has panties.

I hope that there will be more options with the dildos, she can wear all the time. First time I used them. But during the 2nd play I didn't care anymore, because they had no further effect on the game play.

Making systems fast and obvious is very good for games. But there's a line I think you should never cross, and that's making things too easy and too fast (flying in WoW). I could make a fast travel system, but then you would never walk around the hotel, and I think a bit of role play is nice so long as it doesn't get in the way.

Keep in mind systems like flying in WoW are limited and not just some exploit you can use to never walk again. For example, when you first start in WoW, you can only fly through fixed routes in which you have no control until you reach your destination, so any questing done in between point A and point B would require you either walk from one or the other to get there. There are quite a few quests in WoW's early game that fit into this, for those that play I am talking about everything prior to Stormwind. This specific flight method is also limited to only being usable on routes you have walked or otherwise been on before flying them and I believe both point A and point B must be locations you've been to already. Free flight is limited to a certain level cap AND you have to get a mount to use it, by which time you will have done an extensive amount of travel by some other means. You could do the same in your games, where it is somehow limited in a way that the player would do an extensive amount of walking and would then end up walking around the hotel at least once before they are able to use faster travel.

Neither of which take/took real advantage of the Unity engine. Besides the unity version of Big Brother is abandoned while the Renpy port is still moving ahead (abet slowly) Never mind technical standpoint doesn't really tell you much as it can be in spite of the engine's limitations as much as due to the advantages of the engine.

What's everyone's friendship supposed to be after completing 0.7? I'm pretty sure I'm missing an event for someone, but I can't remember which characters I've gotten the completion notification for.

Of course it's difficult to use it for some games but find it helpful in most, when I want to rest the right hand for a while(CTS). 2-4-6-8 for navigation, numEnter to select+skip, + - for rollback. Should be fairly straight forward to move this over to wasd or similar.

Go to Ellen, click on Bar Upgrades, Waitress Training, and do her training.
