What end result of the second event would have left her thinking it was a success? Unless it's that she got to steal the bracelet. The first, yes, it did end (thanks to Nia) with freeing Cira. But did they get anything at all out of the second?
Really, in anything like an IRL scenario, she's worthless as a spy. Cromwell and Beaumont know, if not exactly who she is, at least that she's closely connected with MC. Cromwell and MC both know who MC is, though they may not have made all the same connections. There's no way, going forward, that Maria gets anything out of them (or Cromwell's wife). There's no way she infiltrates anything where they're present. In terms of the kind of stuff she's been shooting for, she's cooked, and extremely lucky not to be in prison or worse.
There are, of course, plenty of things she could do on a smaller scale. Seducing/distracting a guard, for example, should be a piece of cake (even if it raises the unholy spectre of NTR). But she's aiming for the stars, and as yet hasn't been willing to do the work (which would be mostly-boring to watch in any event).
So I don't know what she's going to do going forward. If she continues as she has the last couple of events, either she gets in serious trouble (which would likely be very serious given her status as a half-elf), or the story gets extremely implausible--suspension of disbelief only goes so far. But she needs to be an active part of the resistance. So I guess I'm looking forward to seeing what form that's going to take.
