Just played it and I loved the game. Great characters, amusing writing and an interesting story. Definitely looking forward to more.

Liking the game far as I tried it but yeah lost my progress because after the spider queen fight I was so low on mp so when I got another slime fight before getting out Alicia got knocked out and no matter where I looked I couldn't find a way to revive her since neither the healing wells or sleeping helped nor could I find any item in the shop. So I tried to see if going solo would help but that just got me a game over and since I hadn't saved yet in the game I had to start over.

In a futa on female situation, the point is specifically the transformation of the available sex acts caused by the penis.
It's strapons that play for keeps. It is lesbian sex but enhanced by the potency of truth. And as with all sex where a soft dom and sub position exist, it reinforces that physically by providing the proper instrument.
Further, your framing of this argument could be applied in all male on female situations where you would then have to ask absurdly "Why is the woman not at all moments fingering the man's anus? Or at least putting a dildo/plug in there when such things are impossible based on position?"
In a futa on male situation, the present but unused vagina on the futa gains meaning by being denied to the man. The expectation of the typical sex act is subverted despite being possible. He is both getting fucked in the ass not just in addition to, but specifically because he is, not using his penis on a vagina.
The reason this does not work in reverse in either situation is because the futa either has 'soft-feminine' expectations in the sex act or none at all.
So the futa taking cock either reads as "A woman taking cock, but oh wait, she has a penis flopping about for no reason."
Or "A shoobob bagooby getting its fimp shlanked, instead of its carno rifted."

The no revival thing was a fuckup. I never died during my playtests, so I never reminded myself to add it. The game balance is a thing that's being reworked in 0.05. For now, I'd suggest just running from the slimes. Here's a patch that adds a revival potion to the shop.

Most of this is just your opinion, but I'll bite. So here's the thing, put yourself in the futa's shoes for a bit. Using your dick feels good right? So does using your vagina. So what if the futa likes doing both? You're thinking people have set roles in sex, and can't deviate from them in any way. For traditional Male/Female might work, but for a futa? Using both would probably be considered the norm. Why wouldn't you? They're both designed for sex. Honestly, anal makes less sense than a futa using her vag.
I'd have to say wouldn't a futa in theory at least feel among the greatest pleasure from anal compared to a normal man or woman. Since when looking at it what makes a man or a woman feel pleasure from anal is mostly the amount of nerves at the entrance but also for a man it's the prostate while for a woman it's the direct or indirect pushing against the vaginal walls that brings them pleasure. I've seen so many discussions on this site where people didn't know the difference between trans women and futas or hermaphrodites that I'd probably assume that take was based in pure stupidity

Honestly we should have separate futa and trans tags. They're entirely different genres.
That is very true, I think for some reason at the moment futas are usually seen as very dominant and somehow vaginal sex is seen as something submissive there is also the previously mentioned breeding part and having the futa become pregnant instead of making someone else pregnant is again probably seen as something submissive.
Which is probably why 95%ish of the futa stuff is futa x male or futa x female but not much is male/female x futa while there is some futa x futa. Which is probably also a reason why in cheating/ntr stuff the futa is always the part doing that towards others but I don't remember ever reading or seeing that happen to a futa unless it's another futa doing it against a futa. The only time I've ever seen anything close to it is in Twisted World where all the men are somehow femboys/traps and super passive while all the women + futa's are all super horny and crazy for men so when the MC with a normal guys mindset but with the body of an incubus get's there he bangs everyone so the futas are sort of cheated on or NTR'd but at the same time they all willingly join his harem so not sure about it...
Still I agree that it's weird that there is so much content of futas doing penetration and people are seemingly so against the norm of it.
I also agree on seperate tags since it honestly doesn't make sense to me that people equals futanari to trans since futa-nari litterly means dual-form meaning they have both female and male sex organs so anyone claiming that a person with only a male sex organ + breasts = futa is just making stuff up. I don't have anything against people wanting the word S-male used in porn or L-boy removed and instead using the general term of trans for everyone. But a trans is not a hermaphrodite which a futanari is so having futa = trans is just messed up. I know the new tag system that's being worked on does separate them, but having seen how the mods are planning to define futa in the new tags, it should probably be separated into trans, futa, and hermaphrodite. There are pages of arguments of the mods staunchly defending the position that futas aren't hermaphrodites, so they should probably get their own tag too

I don't know if it was mentioned, but The game is interrupted if you complete the "Date" side quest. A loading screen will appear, from which you cannot exit without rebooting.
