Thanks for explaining this, I was wondering what happened after the recent review mentioned NTR. Very bizarre choice to add that out of nowhere with no option to avoid it. I played an earlier version of this game and enjoyed it despite the roughness so that's a bit disappointing. Here's hoping it gets changed I guess.

One thing to know when you play the game is that this is a primary wuxia game with romance as a side focus,i talked with the author and he at least at the time didn't plan to have endings where the MC ends with a heroine,instead the relationships are basically being sex friends to duo cultivate and advance faster
This is news to me. But not good news. This feels like another punch to the gut. There goes the emotional connection formed with the harem...
Good to know but still strikes me as a bit odd I suppose. It's been a few versions since I played, but the characters seemed to develop a deeper connection than simply "sex friends" from what I remember. Or at the very least are moving in that direction, because at the time it felt pretty much like a harem in the making. I don't know enough about the Wuxia genre to really talk about it tbh but at the end of the day I don't think a lot of players want to watch a love interest get raped (besides the people who are into that.) If we are going to become this martial master, I'd expect some choices along the way to reflect that. Being able to save a girl from being raped by having to fight the would be rapists or something feels like an obvious one to add. Based on the description above of what happens to the fire spirit, it really sounds like a nonsensical NTR route.

Harems are probably my favorite element of porn games so I'm a bit biased when I say I'd like to see it, but I don't even need a proper harem path or anything. We can have a bunch of friends with benefits, doesn't matter that much to me. My core problem lies in this whole situation with the fire spirit and how forced it seems. I have no problem with scenes/routes like that being in the game, my gripe is not being able to avoid them. All of this could be solved by just having a choice of intervening before the dude rapes the spirit.
They mean change name, as in change MCs name. Not so much the other characters, since you play as MC, a lot of people like to name them, whether it be their name or a name they like. But being able to name your MC, does wounders for immersion.The QOL updates in question were done after 0.8's initial release (days before we had our discussion). The only new things I added before releasing it publicly were a few content end screens and the skip age check thing you suggested and compressing the files so that people here don't have to take that extra step (and to allow for mobile downloads again).
As for the name change mod -- that won't be necessary (unless someone else wants to implement it as a mod, then by all means I have no issues).
There is a good reason for that --- it was intentional.
I don't plan on allowing / adding name changes because the character's names are all chosen for their meaning, all of them thus far. Bai Huan means clear fluid, or clear liquid -- for example. Yenay = she who is loved, and so on.
As far as the rest, my focus has shifted to sorting out as much as possible with the next update, which is coming next month. It really doesn't have anything to do with you personally and as I mentioned many of those are things I have / had on the agenda for a while now.
Don't get me wrong, I don't really have an issue with CC or suggestions, it just needs to be something that I need to add to my "to do" list.
