The new cancer treatment research using your immune system to fight tumors is making this plot obsolete. It's not quite there for most cancers, or in broad availability yet, but it's on the horizon (budget cuts notwithstanding). It doesn't bug me in the game, but the thought did intrude. Chemo and radiation are not the be-all, end-all in treatment these days.

It's still very early stages, but for the first time ever someone was recently cured of the specific type of cancer MC has. I commented on this a while back:
About the type of cancer he has, for the first time ever, someone was determined to be cured of it early last year in an experimental treatment trial. That potentially opens a somewhat plausible path for the MC to eventually enroll in a similar trial and get lucky, if that's where Storm wants to go.

But yes, considering that so far it has something like only a 1-2% survival rate at five or more years, he may have just given up and decided not to subject himself to the harsh side effects of existing treatments that most likely would only slightly prologue the inevitable. It is worth noting that there are survivors at 10+ years, they're just very rare and often try not to get much publicity since there's sometimes survivor guilt etc.
Doctors can honestly sometimes be the worst patients though because they know all the facts and have probably seen people suffering through what they've been diagnosed with and the side effects of treatment. Does not surprise me at all that MC here is reluctant to start any and may have thrown in the towel, for now at least.

I concur, being a paramedic my entire adult life us medical people make the worst patients ever.

I'm pretty sure him being a doctor in the field will have something to do with his reluctance about treatment, but there may be other reasons. If that was the sole reason he might as well come out and say he knows the cancer and his chances etc and doesn't want to go though a useless treatment. But being kinda secretive about it, I'm thinking there is more there.

All this talk about MC's brain tumor and what will happen... I think it's already happened and he/we just don't know it yet. The punk in the parking lot hit him in the head with a tire iron, it caused trauma to the tumor, and it will dry up and disappear. Jus' Sayin'

If percussive maintenance works for machinery, why not brain tumors I guess?

Just started this one. Am i right to assume that Sky is Nicole from this dev's previous game? She looks like her but younger so i assume this is set in the past?

The name of the dev studio is AlterWorlds. The Nicole (Sky) of HD is an alternate universe version of the Nikki from Bare Witness.
