RE picking up Notty's speech patterns: it's hard for me to tell. I pick up lots of British English bits that fall out of my mouth in conversation (causing me to get odd looks) - but it's been that way a long time. I blame Red Dwarf, A Bit of Fry & Laurie, Blackadder, Ab Fab, Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, etc etc etc....

Let's say we get to a "big" choice (no, you haven't had any of those yet
Based on you, how you play this game, what you've found out and your interactions with the characters (and indeed who you believe/trust) you'll hopefully look at that choice with a variety of responses.

Now listen here missy. Obviously you're just a cheeky pirate whereas I am one of the exalted dev Gods, so there's something you probably don't appreciate.
After a hard day making naughty pictures (and in Four there are a lot of naughty pictures) a girl can get a bit...frustrated. And so what I like to do, to ease that frustration and not get cranky, is to spend time in my garden. I find it relaxing. Very.
Now without my garden key, I can't really use any of my garden tools in the garden - and in fact I can't really access the garden at all. All I can do is spend time in the back passage and that's not half as much fun.
So, although you are a super-dooper friend. Key.

Well... as long as there is consistency....
Don't we see Chris hitting on Annie (enlisted), "Oh you'll fall to my womanly charms one day, Chief", getting close with Sarah (junior Officer) during the strip down re-entry sequence, and actively pursuing the MC's Sister (junior officer). Nothing about how Chris is written makes me think she wouldn't act on any of this.
Yet, when the MC is caught with Annie, Chris goes ape shit..... and is suddenly Miss "throw the book at you".
Is it a monogamous relationship quest.... but only for the MC.
None of the NPCs (so far) seem to be looking for a "mate for life", so if playing the field is good for the gander, why not the goose?

They were bantering. They've known each other for ages. Annie and Chris don't have that sort of relationship. Quite the opposite in fact... The rank structure thing gets in the way for a start.
Sarah and Kelly are fair game for her tho!

Think of it as being "same mess" rules. There's a really detailed explanation somewhere on this thread (God knows where tho!).
But in short, relationships with different messes or junior officers that could effect command decisions is a no-no. So Chris trying to bang Annie is way out. Won't happen. Chris trying with Sarah. Maybe, but not on the mission - although she might try to seed it for later. Chris trying with Kelly. Green light. Chris and the MC. Green light.

Also Annie is mission critical at the mo. She's the only ship engineer on the planet. Kelly on the other hand? She's a traffic and logistics officer with no traffic and no logistics. Tbh Chris probably sees her as an utter waste of space.
Factor in that Annie obvs has a history of this sorta thing (and equally obviously that Chris keeps covering up for her...) no wonder Chadders went balistic. "Here we go again....and now? Of all times?"
