Dev's reaction after stringing all their supporters along for 6 years with barely any progress:

It's actually the fact that, uncharacteristically when she's gone radio silent, she hasn't turned off the Patreon charges. Unlike lots of other devs I could name, she's been very good about not charging when she's missed her deadlines.

Now, I've unbacked her on Patreon because I don't have enough money to throw into a black hole, but I'll resub if she resurfaces. Because I trust her but not Patreon.

Conversely there are a number of other games I've backed in the past but ran away from when it became clear that the devs were trying to milk me.

Yeah, not charging when they've missed deadlines.. they originally posted that Chapter 4 would be done in 2019 and chapter 5 would be done by the start of 2020, I'm sure not a penny has been charged since then. Definitely no milking going on here officer.

From her Patreon money.
Yeah, she's had charging on like what, four times in three years? And that last one I suspect was an accident, since she's still incommunicado. I'm suspecting a literal worst case scenario has occurred, like she's in hospital or worse.

Now, I've unbacked her on Patreon because I don't have enough money to throw into a black hole, but I'll resub if she resurfaces. Because I trust her but not Patreon.
Ditto, I have my fingers crossed she ends up okay somehow, but I'm not paying Patreon in her absence.

I'm hoping nothing bad happened to her. She seemed incredibly stressed out for the last six months, and I'm not sure if developing the game was 100% responsible for that, although her impossibly high standards really didn't help her with stress management. I'm hoping she is just overwhelmed and taking a mental health break and perhaps just forgot to disable her Patreon before she took the break as an oversight, perhaps thinking it was already disabled because she does it so much.

It's good to know that she's ok.
As for the rest... yeah, she needs help. Not that that's new, see her being worried about being persecuted for expressing liking tits while in scotland, or the whole exhausting the renpy RNG... which is a mersenne twister, with a period of 2^{19937}-1 .
But honestly, I can't be bothered to be upset or outraged or whatever about devs unless they're acting actively malicious. We'll get what we'll get, eventually.

So, you are telling me that, when the update was "almost" ready and testing was the only thing to be done, this person takes 3 months without saying anything (at least officially), charges a month without telling it before (remember that she said she will not charge until chapter 5 is released), comes back like nothing happened and even says that she dont have anything to apologize?

Omg, this game is so done.

How much time is gonna take to say "Stop, thats it"? She hasnt released a "new" chapter since 2021, I can understand a game like this could take 10 years or so to be completely done but we are talking about an update, JUST AN UPDATE.

"But hey bro, pokers game gonna be doubled and the game will have more lewd scenes"
Oh, excuse me, we are just going to have ANOTHER thing being remade wow (this time without it even being released before, thats new), why not triple it and release it next year? Oh, just better, quintuple it and give it to my grandsons, they will surely enjoy it.

(This is just a meme at this point)

Like I said a long time ago, this game is never going to be completed, not for lack of support, just because she can never get to the point to say "Ok, lets release it", looking for perfection is a valid point for a limited time imo, there will always be something to improve but she cant just accept that and keeps believing that she can get to the point of an "impossible perpetual perfection" and people defending her are not really helping it, just making it worse to the point we are now.

Personally, I am tired of following this game, even every many months like I do now and think its better in this type of games. I should never have played it, much less followed it, this is just masochism.

You can take all this as me releasing my frustration if you want idc, just let me wish this game good luck, it will need it.

I first downloaded 2RS version and played it until the end.

Today I realized that there is a newer version (3R) and downloaded it.

I though I could load my saved games from 2R, but it is not working and game quits with an Exception like this:

Any workarounds?

2RS is newer than 3R. "R" is the first remaster and "RS" is the second. You will have to start over and play through on the R version from the start if you want to see the 3R content.
