If he wants more Patrons he should release updates with a reasonable amount of content each month (2 months tops) for at least the first 4 or 5 updates, with the game popping up frequently more people would be interested in supporting him.
If im not wrong i think the dev of W.V.M did something like this at the beginning.
Behaving like he usually does dont help him a bit and will take people away from supporting him...What he gonna do? Set absurd goals for updates and then abandon the game everytime it doesnt explode in popularity? This is the recipe for people labeling him as a rude, greedy and untrustworthy dev that dont deserve any kind of money and support...At this point i think that what is stopping him from getting more support/money is himself and not his work, he already has a bad reputation, he should thank God for still being able to get $394 in support.

What a self-defeating message. "I need a bunch more people to give me money, or I won't continue the game. So give me money, and hope that enough others do too, so that your pledge wasn't a pointless waste of money."

Why would I spend a dime on something that might get intentionally abandoned due to circumstances I have no control over?

None of the devs who actually make a profit threaten abandonment, because they know people only want to support something they can be reasonably sure will continue. Hell, watch how the devs who are masters at milking do it. They're constantly reassuring everyone that the next update is on the way, even if they've stopped working entirely.

That's the most preplexing tread on this site so far. No one is helping with this crap talking towards the author. He's not in the right either but that's life. If he wishes to win, he'll continue working on the game, if not, well that'll be just another promising game flushed down the drain. Nihil novum sub sole.

I like the characters in this game very much, and I hope the author will not give up. I think the game needs to be updated frequently, even if it is a small update, so that it can appear on the "last updates" list more and more fans can watch it. To this game, and get more fan support, I also really want to spend this game, but I live in a country that is very inconvenient for international payments.

I don't see why everyone's so negative about the dev being so upfront, this is literally every other devs attitude, they just don't say it out loud. Nobody does it for fun, everyone wants to get paid.
The guy is setting a bottom-line and putting a price tag on his game which is actually a good thing, instead of making 10k+ per month and droping an update "whenever they feel like" like some other devs.
I might be wrong about it but it appears as this could be one of the few devs out there with actual work ethic, we'll see.

Yes, he's truthful with his audience but it's not a good truth for everyone involved including him. He's basically shooting himself in the foot with his honesty, and future supporters will avoid this game like the plague. There's nothing for him to gain by threatening people with the cancellation of the game. If he has a good work ethic, he should focus on making a good product and hope for the best, not with this get-rich-quick mindset.

Also, some people are still upset about the abandonment of PI.

Most developers obviously WANT to make money. But they also make games because they have a passion for it and don't hold games hostage and say they're gonna quit working on them if they don't get the money. Most developers who have been at it years that aren't making $1,000+ a month still work on those games because they hope that if they consistently put out updates that their game will gain traction. But even if they don't ever gain a following they don't cry and whine to their supporters every chance they get.

Damn dude, if I could read minds like you, I wouldn't be wasting that talent on calling out porn game devs in a pirate forum. I'd be stealing ideas from Elon Musk or extorting world leaders. But you do you.

nobody is calling him out for being up front in fact i admire his honesty it is much better than som devs who keeps “reworking” their games or keep selling the wallpapers than progressing the actual game.
The problem is his arrogance and bad attitude especially towards his own patrons , he keeps threatening them about abandoning the game if he doesn’t get enough support, why would you keep supporting him if you know the game is going nowhere? It is also the way he asks.... i mean demand for money with his “i am the god’s gift to the VN community, there is no one like me, i am way above rest of them so if you want to enjoy my supreme talent give me money or i will abandon this game” attitude.
