VN Ren'Py Heroes of Celtica: Dark Druid [v0.8.0] [Slamjax Games]

I have a few things to say so far from the beginning. 1.) shouldn't picture 1 say a place I don't recognize? 2.) I wish this game had a little but of magic and when you put things in a pocket, it's really in a magic ring like a pocket dimension. 3.) does Champion give you the option to have a harem? 4.) The developer Notes says this,
1) Champion - heroic warrior that can romance selected female characters.
2) Bard - rougish anti-hero interested in lewd companions.
3) Druid - a patient schemer seeking to establish a lair with villainous brides.
4) Warlord - principled but ruthless and lustful conqueror that forms a harem.
What if you want to be a hero but still have a harem? The Bard says you create a harem but you're an anti-hero. I want to have all the females to myself but still be a hero.

Makes no difference as you will reappear after a thousand years. Seeing as she is not an immortal, doubt you will see her again

Wait, something doesn't add up. If the battle was a thousand years ago, does that mean that Flida, Lugh and the others are immortal? How can the battle be a thousand years ago but they are still around a thousand years?

I have a question, if I choose one path, does it automatically close the other? Like if I chose to help, bera, does that close a path with Caz-Cora?

Um, why does the game end at the same area that it did the last time i played? Right before you get the the kingdom? The last update ended there also.

Bard route is on pause until the Druid route is completed. All future updates are for the Druid until that story line is 100% completed.

The game is a work in progress, so Suspicion values may change. With future updates, suspicion will affect if your true intentions are exposed to Finn and the Fianna. That is, you have to be careful and choose selectively how you progress your nefarious schemes.

Am I crazy to suspect Aideen & Etain is related or is one and the same? Everytime Aideen is in the scene it seems there is logic checking Etain's stats

I didn't play bard and druid paths but i'm not surprised the druid is being prioritised. From his description as a schemer, he sounds the most similar to sagacious-6 .

Yeah, it probably makes the most sense to transition through each route based on which is most similar to the previous route or game, slowly going from "people who are here because they liked the mind control" to "people who are here because they liked the Celtic mythology".

Of course, with the current... "crisis" going on right now, I hope the game isn't forced to abandon the druid and warlord paths before they're finished. The "heroic" routes might be able to make it through Visa/MasterCard's crackdown, but the druid in particular is screwed if anyone catches wind of it.

They're gods. The Tuatha Dé Danann are like the Celtic equivalent of the Greek Olympians.

I had to skim a route I hadn't played yet to see who you were talking about, but what I saw does match up with something I'm vaguely familiar with from Celtic mythology.

Good find and catch. Wasnt aware of this lore. Now it makes me wonder, if decision/mind control powers have impact on Aideen in the upcoming episodes.

yes, but this point check have not been implemented yet. Should be later down the road since the game is still in its early stage. The 6th week window is here. So i expect 0.8 be release soon and 0.7 be public soonish

Hello All,
Here is a quick update as to where I'm at with the next update to HEROES OF CELTICA, which is version 0.8.1.
All the images were finished about 10 days ago and since that time, I've been completing the script, which is about halfway done. With luck, I can finish all the writing by this weekend, but it will be a sprint. This is a little concerning to me, because I started making the images for this update with a 2 week headstart. The result is I've had no time to continue working on STELLAR INCOGNITA this month, which I really wanted to do.
Anyway, the current update I'm working on is about 14 per cent larger than version 0.7.1 because I'm dealing with four separate paths at the moment - there's the Fianna path, the Aideen path, the Saivah path and the bonus content path for patrons. Two of those paths will merge back together eventually, but that will take a few updates more, I think. It's no use to have a game that is completely on rails, at least in my mind. Some people like that, but if I play a game with simple mechanics, at the very least I want some variety and consequences in my choices.
Anyway, it's back to work.

Hello All,
Here is an update on the next installment of HEROES OF CELTICA v0.8.1:

• main content is completed
• main content is being quality-checked
• patron exclusive update is still being written and then will need a quality-check, but the quality check for this portion of the update is going to be more straight forward

I'm aiming to get v0.8.1 released this week, so the next updates you should get from me are a public release post for v0.7.0 and Omega Slam access to v0.8.1. Hold on a little longer, I am almost there.

8.1 is up on Patreon. 7.0 should be public soon. ...Although it's been 13 hours, and they're supposed to go up at the same time (6.0 was posted slightly before 7.1), so there may be some hiccup somewhere, maybe in the upload process.
