The "downside" of a slower story like this is that it desperately needs a sequel. It feels like we're coming near the end of the story, and I don't want it to be "finally they are together, now we jump 15 years and there they are married and kids and they're very successful with their careers and cured cancer and so on, the end".
I think you missread my post a bit. I actually think (that's of course only an assumtion) that you have to be for Emma on nobodys other route. If I remember right with Kogas mod showing the infos you get opt out for the Emma dream when you are on Charlottes route. And it will imo also be checked for Emma later on if you are on other routes, too. But we will have to see how DB is handling that for real in the next updates.
To be honest, I don't care if the DEV is a man or a woman. I found myself quickly immersed in the VN. I have to admit, this is not a typical adult VN that one expect to find in F95zone. However, the superb quality of the VN, led me to enjoy the game that I found myself losing time over it. don't compare the sex scenes with steamy sex scenes from other games/VNs. This is not the purpose. On a personal note, this sex scene are more realistic and in nature in compare to the porn like scenes in other games. Its a matter of context. What is steamy and arousing in BAD won't cut it here. It will be out of context. So, in my personal belief, if someone looking for a steamy scenes like BAD in the game, they head for major disappointment.
The game is highly sensitive and the drama building is spot on. Maybe its my age or experience in life. I look at Emma as a child. I can't see here as a love interest (not to mention, sexual attraction). Compare Emma to Dee (DMD VN) and you see the difference. When I look at Dee (DMD), I don't see her as a LI but only as sex interest. Regarding Suzi, she is interesting, I less keen to see her an a LI but I have to admit she is hot and I would have sex with her everyday (purely physical attraction). Charlotte is my LI as I am attracted to her emotionally and physically. However, I find it hard imaging having a steamy sex with her. I think more of tender love making. It will take a long time being in an intimate relationship with her that one expect her to be more adventurous in bed.
To be honest, not all men and women are adventurous in bed. It varies a lot from many different reasons.
To sum, I couldn't care less about the sex of the developer. I like top quality and HS provides it. If I just want to pleasure myself, there are good games that allow you to do that.
That's my two cents. Don't get me wrong, I can easily understand why younger people in the forum find Emma as their LI.

Yup. Totally here for the Charlotte path. HillsideVN Could do many stories like this for decades and do well. Even if they were only R rated.

I have stated it before. Only an opinion based on seeing every possible plot line in legacy TV and the movies. HillsideVN 's work is as good, and the most important thing, enjoyable.

I kind of agree, but on the other hand, many of the games where you spend a lot of time chasing after a woman do turn a bit boring after finally getting her. Especially since this is not a harem game where you can just start chasing new women after finally getting the main one.
And I do wish the main characters to be finally happy in one way or the other so the "jump 15 years and there they are married and kids" doesn't sound that bad.

I didn't misread your post. I'm only trying to interpret what the dev could have meant by "it won't be easy to reach the Lucy route". It's pretty certain that Emma's route would become exclusive at some point, as it will be for Lucy, Suzy, and Charlotte (and maybe, a few others too). You have to be on nobody else's route to end this game with any of them as your chosen LI. But if you could still reach Emma's route by following Charlotte's route, that makes it a no-brainer for anyone who wants to attain the Emma route. You simply have to go on choosing Emma over Charlotte, Suzy, etc when the time comes. However, "it won't be easy" if, say, when following the Charlotte route, you don't even get the option to get the Emma route at all. It will be difficult when you must choose Lucy over Charlotte at the first fork and then, go on rejecting everyone else when the choice to romance Emma opens up and that becomes the only way to do it. Of course, these are all assumptions (I don't own an apartment inside the dev's head) but I won't mind that kind of difficulty for a change rather than just going along with the Charlotte route to find the Emma route open up at some point when all she's been feeling towards the MC is a growing fatherly sort of love so far. And even though this is an AVN and we've seen far more depraved plots, I think getting Emma through Lucy's route would be a lot more believable to me. I'll take that as a welcome choice.
