Version 0.3.1 - development news (updated 15. of August 2021)

Hi guys and gals, this post offers you a collection of news about the next version of Holiday Island (0.3.1).​

The change log below is based on the release 0.3.0.0.​

The next main release is 0.3.1 which will be an incremental update for Windows, Linux and Mac. It will include new features and some bug fixes as well.​

As of right now, the update from 0.3.0.0 to 0.3.1.0 has:​

New features and content

• The beach bar will be turned into a location you can visit --> still working on it
• Sara can visit the night bar and you can have a drink with her --> still working on it
• Desire gets an extended workout yoga scene --> still working on it
• Yvette gets a pool pose scene in her skimpy bikini --> still working on it
• Yvette gets another appointment at the beach during sunset --> still working on it
• Alice gets a web search with 6 images (shipendale lingerie) --> still working on it (renders are done)
• Miriam gets a beach pose scene that is linked to a quest --> will be part of 0.3.1.0
• Sara gets an appointment at the doctor's office as part of Miriam's quest --> will be part of 0.3.1.0
• Miriam gets an extended walk on the beach scene --> will be part of 0.3.1.0
• Yvette gets an extended pool sunbed scene in webp format --> will be part of 0.3.1.0
• Yvette gets an extended event in her room, where she changes into her bikini --> will be part of 0.3.1.0
• Yvette gets an extended scene posing in her blue lingerie that can end with a round of poker --> will be part of 0.3.1.0
• Rainy days (before or after noon) will be added, where all activity is inside - so the girls will not use the pool or the beach during the rain --> will be part of 0.3.1.0
• Heather gets an event in the MC's room, where she asks to use the MC's shower --> will be part of 0.3.1.0
• The new special action (pose butt) has been added for Desire, Faye, Jennifer and Yumiko --> will be part of 0.3.0.1

Minor improvements and changes

• Yumiko's "guess who" game gets 10 additional images --> will be added with version 0.3.1.0
• Yumiko's sexting images have been upgraded to 2560x1440 --> will be added with version 0.3.1.0
• All the reception sprites have been replaced by high res versions --> will be added with version 0.3.1.0
• The first visit to Joy's office has been rewritten and rendered in high quality. There are 4 new images as well. --> will be added with version 0.3.1.0
• The girl selection screen (used when visiting or masturbating) can now display up to 23 girls and is auto sized to display 1, 2 or 3 rows --> will be added with version 0.3.1.0
• Hovering your mouse over the trophies will now display some details (number of interactions or wins) --> will be added with version 0.3.1.0
• Poker trophy will be available --> will be added with version 0.3.1.0
• The visit a girl screen will show the information if the girl is in her room or not, provided you have hacked her sub dermal implant to level 3 --> will be added with version 0.3.1.0
• Changed the balancing for the hotshots to make the MC undress more --> will be added with version 0.3.1.0
• Achievements can be displayed in full screen now --> will be added with version 0.3.1.0
• Quick access to tasks and appointment schedule --> will be added with version 0.3.1.0

Bug fixes

• Replaying Yvette's "Plane girl arrival event" was using Aly's event instead, so text and pictures didn't match --> will be fixed with version 0.3.1.0
• When a girl poses her butt at the gym, Jennifer suddenly appears in the picture, even at times she isn't there. --> will be fixed with version 0.3.1.0
• Missing scrollbar has been added for weekly trophies and scrollbar size has been fixed for total trophies --> will be fixed with version 0.3.1.0
• The size calculation in the "Open tasks and quests" app was bugged, so that it could happen that the last open task/quest wasn't shown fully or even wasn't shown at all. --> will be fixed with version 0.3.1.0
• Replaying Amy's event where she tells you she needs to leave the island made her also leave during the replay --> will be fixed with version 0.3.1.0
• Fixed a crash with "Sayer char.talk is not defined" when you talk with Yvette at her room when the towel slips --> will be fixed with version 0.3.1.0
• The cooldown at the lifeguard tower was also triggered when the lifeguard wasn't present --> will be fixed with version 0.3.0.1
• Severe stuttering and lags on some PCs on animations using the animation player. The reason is the added "game time" timer --> will be fixed with version 0.3.0.1
• File "game/actions.rpy", line 1967, in <module> NameError: name 'l_walk_image' is not defined --> will be fixed with version 0.3.0.1
• File "game/loc_pool.rpy", line 565, in <module> NameError: name 'l_inclination' is not defined --> will be fixed with version 0.3.0.1
• Fixed one use of i_char1 instead of i_char that lead to a crash --> will be fixed with version 0.3.0.1
• Corrected some minor things (mainly typos) --> will be fixed with version 0.3.0.1

Is the update going to break save games?

Which of the girls (besides Daniela, Jennifer, Joy, Sara, and Yumiko) have stats that are impossible to unlock?
Their eye color automatically unlocks, but I'd like to see that withheld until you compliment her eyes.
Girls who can't play Hot Shots will not allow you to unlock their age: Alice, Delizia, Ivy, Lacey, and Natasha.
I would also like to know how breast size (large, huge, melons, etc.), breast type, body type, and height type get unlocked. I think that breast size fills in when bra size becomes known, and height type fills in when height becomes known.
Perhaps body type becomes known when bra size, waist size, and hips size become known.
However, it seems like sometimes these stats don't always fill in. I'm not sure.
Also, unless a girl specifically tells you that her breasts are natural, implants or Gen Tech, you do not unlock that stat.
Natasha's are listed as natural, which seems debatable since Daniela's are listed as Gen Tech even though she had a similar procedure. Joy presumably had the same procedure, but the stat isn't unlocked. Jennifer tells you hers are Gen Tech, but that stat isn't filled in, perhaps because her bra size is unknown.
It seems like Alice and Aly told me they had natural breasts, but the stat didn't unlock.
Some tier 3 girls (Brenda, Delizia, and Lacey) don't tell you about their breasts. However, Renee tells you she has implants (maybe when she teaches you massage?) Delizia talks about having E cups when she was in high school, but it seems this isn't enough to get the stat unlocked.

Obviously you can cheaat and unlock everything (including Yumiko's room number if you want to bork your game), but I think that the Creator may have hidden some info in the Walk On the Beach, Talk About Her option or the Listen To Rumors In the Restaurant option, and I want to know if that's the case.
Let me know if you guys have found anything.

I was also wondering about the discrepancies when it comes to breast type. Some do not seem to match what you get to know in the game. If I remember correctly, Eva tells you about her implants, but, in my phone, "gen tech" is listed. And some are not filled in just as you observed.

When it comes to unlocking of features like eye color and body type, I wouldn't find that very logical as they are visible features. In contrast to the exact measurements of the girls.

Your unlocking discussion made me think about how unlocking some of the measurements of the girls could be made more interesting - in contrast to just asking them directly and getting a small punishment or overhearing a conversation.

This is what I would love to have: actual dates where a girl allows you to measure her under bust, bust, waist and hip circumference. You'd have to have certain love/affection/anger levels to be allowed to do that. Imagine Faye lifting her massive breasts for you to be able to measure her under bust. Many things come to my mind what could happen during such activities
Probably, this should not be done for weight though

In her appointment reward scene as part of her quest, Eva tells you that Joy had her implants replaced by gen tech.
So there is no mistake. Her inital value is "implants", but it gets replaced as you progress with her.

The thing with the measurement tape is that it would have to be added in postwork. It cannot be rendered.

Thanks, I wasn't sure whether I remembered it correctly. So I didn't.

It is a pity that a measuring tape cannot be rendered and would have to be done in post-processing. I can immediately understand how time consuming that would be as I know how long it took me to do just that...
Someone should introduce measuring tapes in Daz3D (haven't got a clue about it, so that won't be me). Aren't they just some type of special clothing?

I think it was in one of her lifting sessions, but maybe on the beach. (I might be confusing this with Eva).
I'll have to search pretty hard to find it.

Well, aside from suggesting that you need to compliment a girl's eyes to unlock her eye color, what I'm asking for is clarification on existing mechanisms.

Edit: You're right about adding a new unlock, but I think there should be something said about her eyes. Maybe when a girl arrives, the PC could say, "You have such beautiful (color) eyes." The thing is, that's a lot of extra work for the Developer, where presumably an unlocking mechanism would be less.

It can be faked with a piece of clothing, but it will not behave or present itself as a measuring tape.
A measure tape is fixed units of the same distance and clothing does not really behave like that.

It will get into all the trouble in the world on its way round Daniela, happy trouble of course, but trouble.

Hi everyone,

i have a question about Amys quest-line, it seems i cant advance to the next step where she knocks at my door to tell me the news about her breasts...

At the first try she knocked at my door before i had done the orange rose/orange dress steps and i advanced her quest-line without these two steps and that borked the quest-line i think, the quest was marked as completed after i spend the night with her, but love couldnt be raised above 75 (because of the missing ´´orange´´ sub-quests).
so i loaded a save before she knocked at my door... but she knocked at the door again before i was able to start the next right step with the orange rose, so i choosed the option not to answer the door, and that worked.
then i proceeded with the right steps, but now i am stuck after the orange dress sub-quest, thats completed, but i tried and reloaded the game several times on every day of the week to trigger the event (you have to be in your room between 19 and 20 h and the chance that she knocks at your door is 50%, and Amy is not on any duty), but i reloaded 20 times or more, but she never knocked at my door again, so i cant start the 5 gold trophies part...
Any ideas how to trigger Amy to knock at my door to start the next part of her quest-line?

It's possible that you are thinking of Eva or Amy. Eva tells you she had implants which were then enlarged. This is true. She then reveals that Joy replaced her old implants with Gen Tech.
Amy tells you she has implants, but as part of her quest, she has them replaced with Gen Tech.

I don't know about other games, but it is a regular occurrence on this thread. Typically, there is a peak of requests in the days and weeks after the release of a new version of Holiday Island. Even multiple requests per day (e.g. there were four on 12 June)! And even within three hours after the release time . It then trails off. We did not have one in two weeks now.
I guess they are people who are too lazy to play the game, but, want to fap-off to the images and animations. Usually they are even too lazy to form a proper question with the correct word order.

Yes, people ask for full saves. Some also ask for saves up until the most recent Update, which is more understandable since they probably played so far, but maybe lost their save and dont want to start again.

But full saves - I dont really get it. You can watch Porn at this point.
