And of course, they are there on vacation, so they have no reason to have sex with the player beyond whatever their personal motivations give them (which is the basic concept of the game, so based on their character and not their "job", some would be sexual predators, some highly sexed, others would not).

I'll skip the rest, as that is what you'd like the game to be and everybody will have their own opinion there.

Really tempted to join Patreon just so I can vote for more Aly content, but we sound outnumbered and I share your concerns

Aly is a girl next door type (character) who (I suppose we could call it) social "escort" and model (job).
She does not engage in casual sex with strangers nor sex escort.

Her character and purpose sets her apart from most of the other resort guests.

Aly therefore tends to "quest" her way forward (expensive, slow) and in Aly-style (which is different and thus takes longer to do) while competing for scarce resources.

What would (imo) help her the most is for other old girls to wrap up and free resources, and perhaps also thinking about what she'd do after her quest ends, as she will at that point have completed her role in the game (aka. done).

anyone else find this game extremely grindy and almost unplayable? There is no learning curve or direction to lead you. Just lots of clicking...and an annoying board game style clicking system for "increasing stats". It looks fun and has potential...but too much in the way of fun...

Yeah, this game does have a special place in my heart because it was the first Adult Indie game I played; I was actually browsing the internet for another game called Holiday Island when I found this one
(Someone out there remembering the other? It was a 90s SimCity style game set on....a tropical island!)
The screenshots immediately drew me in, so that is saying something.

And hot renders are not the only good thing, this game does have some really good foundations: not a pure VN, a potentially interesting story, a ton of naughty content, and a nice setting.

But that does not do away with the fact that it also has some serious issues. Note, I don't hate to do a bit of grinding, sure. Building stats that then decline over time? fine.
But the fact that you have to repeat the same hug/kiss/walk on the beach/sit in the sun with very cringey, unskippable dialogue over and over again? It makes this game reaaallly tedious, the amount of clicking to get through these forever repeating scenes is ridiculous.
And a lot of scenes are dependent on a lot of factors: lust/love/affection/stamina stats for the LI and for the MC, the location, time of day and I suspect there is also some RNG involved. These factors combined ensured that I have never encountered certain scenes.

And on a personal note: the LI's that I find the most attractive have the least scenes (tier 3 girls) I want more Brenda, Rene and Delizia!

If you take a second to read and don't just skip everything, the game tells you over and over again. Each time you don't know how to do it in fact, that you have to ask Jennifer at the gym.

Open the folder where you installed Holiday Islands. Then navigate down to the folder named "game". Copy the file there and confirm to overwrite the existing file(s).

Which ensures she stays in the game and actually has a future (and will be able to get a sex scene).

Holiday Island has a multitude of different options, random events and specialized encounters that are all part of building the relationships with each of the girls surrounding him. Just like in real life you will get hungry, horny, drunk and need to sleep. Just like real life, if the player doesn't interact with and pay attention to a girl(s), their affection, love and desire for the player will decline. This isn't a virtual novel where you skip dialogue until sex happens. This is a game where immersing yourself in the context, manage your daily activities and pay attention to the girls' tendencies, wants, desires, etc. will lead to various encounters and pay dividends down the line. The game isn't complete yet, but there's a lot of content to enjoy. As for whether there is 'grinding', the developer has already provided the best answer.

Sounds like you expect this game to have a beginning, middle and end, along with having a format you prefer. Based on your post, Holiday Island will never measure up to what you want it to be. Take your comment on Aly as an example ... Yes, she was one of the first girls, but although popular with some players, her popularity pales in comparison to say Yvette and Amy. Just because she doesn't have a penetration sex scene, doesn't mean she's flawed. Sex with Aly will happen when it happens. Meaning when the developer decides to write and render said scene.

Read the above from the developer. There is no need to have your and the girl(s) stats maxed out. It will not help you if you're achievement hunting, which incidentally is the wrong way to play Holiday Island. The Companion Guide and other posts within this thread offer an easy solution to guarantee Yvette is in the sauna on co-ed days. The latest update even allows you to invite her to sauna.

Not saying your opinion or take on Holiday Island is wrong. Just suggesting you might consider looking at the game and the way you play it in a different light.

I wrote The first companion guides to the game. And you're dead wrong about my expectations. But like what happened with some other developers, they learned its best to at somepoint clean up that old content they forgot to add over time. Darkhound has spent more time playing with features than he has his strongpoint and that's his art. And I already know he wont really listen to the feedback anyways. If he did he would have written the poker game way differently years ago when literally NO ONE liked it. Well we except the make noise add on for peeping on people. Because most of us maxed out sneak that we would never get that to happen before the scenes were made.

My statement about stats was to illustrate not that I have them maxed out to get the girls, but that its been so long they have pretty much an established relationship and instead its a constant unlockable for the same repeatable content. It misses any sort of progression with women and you are instead just achievement hunting. Like you said, it's the wrong way to go about it. But at one point thats the only way you can see any new content. You can't stumble on to it unless you specifically know how.

The issue with using companion guides is like my original poker work around: were having to cheat to make the game passibly enjoyable, where it's not even necessary to have co-ed days, much less most of the very specific and hard to obtain combination of stats, affections, clothing and day/daypart combos. And even harder when those requirements are something your save bypassed before it was even a thing.

It's never a good thing when someone else has to fix your game for others to enjoy. I stopped making my guide because everyone got so frustrated with the game they wanted me to hand hold them through every single step of each girl.

TL: DR: its really about progression of any kind beyond Achievements in my phone. Which is not something the game does very well.

There is chance his game got borked like mine, the MC who's Ankle would NOT heal after 3 weeks gameplay.

We are on page 1490 and yours is the 29.791th post, so it is pretty safe to say it has sex scenes.

• Natasha is considered easy
• Yvette and Eva have easy sex on contest wins.
• It is decidedly difficult to avoid sex with Amy (once her long quest is done)
• Faye (blue pill needed for pool sex), Alice, Heather and Jessica are not exactly prudes either.
• Sex with Joy is unavoidable or very close to it (occurs over time, as it is story events).

Think the record is sex 14 times in one day (I forget the number of girls, some multiple times) so yes, there is sex in the game.
