So let this be a teachable moment to ALL devs. This is a perfect example of how to kill your game before it ever gets out of the blocks on something as "simple" as selecting your game's font and how you present dialogue to your audience. In this case it has become such a barrier to playing the game that swapping it out may be irrelevant.

A first release is not a v1.1, dear developer. It is more like a v0.1.1 (if it is the first patch of the first alpha release).
I'm seeing a lot of dunking going on and not a lot of constructive criticism. I'm just going to slap down some pros and cons, but good luck dev this shows promise.
Pros:
1. Renders are interesting and dynamic, a far cry from the shot reverse shot you see from a lot of projects.
2. Time period/technology looks interesting at first blush. Thank Christ it isn't just modern/fantasy harem which are a dime a dozen around here.
3. MC looks pretty good.
Cons:
1. The writing is mostly nonsensical. I have no idea who any of these characters are, what they want, or even how they fit in the world. Also, what is the world? Why do we need the horndog brigade? Is it normal for MC to have infinite strength/endurance? Do any of these characters even have names?
2. The demo takes about 10 minutes to get through, including the forced super long transitions between every dialogue box. There's honestly not enough content to even make an informed decision if I want to support your project.

I appreciate all the critiques and positive comments, trust me you're not alone in some though about the font and a couple other things I had my doubts myself but felt it was worth the risk to see how people reacted to something a little different. I try to not be in the same pod as others and stick out whenever possible even if not always in the flashiest way.
Rest assured I'll take all of the comments into mind and work them into the coming updates of the game to better balance it out and make it even better for more people to enjoy!

There is, and it should be used to prevent runaway situations. Not common but can happen.

Everyone should cut the dev a break. Doing non-3D stuff in UE4 can be rough because nobody really does it, and while the engine can do it. It's not as straightforward as 3D is, and sometimes can actually be harder. Esp if you're just starting. Besides, we all suck in the beginning. Think it's easy? You go do it.

and it is amazing. Easy to implement, and very flexible. I only mention it because it's one of the more frustrating things I had to wrestle with.
That's not a bad one for sure, I might use that in my Adult First Person Sandbox I'm working on. But as for my VN I'm just using good old widgets for now, and will be introducing some 3D sandbox moments as well for common areas in coming chapters. Stay tuned!

Hi, tried it as well now.
I respect everyone who gets anything done which works like a game, but this has lots to improve.
- is there even a menu? could not see any save button,
- choose black shirt - still white shirt in pics,
- slow ass transitions,
- many white screens where just nothing is showing - very odd,
- somehow game looked strange on my ultra wide screen,
- PC was heating up like hell - I dunno what for,
- SteamVR was starting? why?saw this with another unreal game,
- nearly forgot - just change the font please,
Just stick with RenPy for VN, why making it harder than it is.....

That's def the list of things I'm additionally working on currently, as for your PC heating up did you get the 1.2 version? GPU hotfix was implemented in that and should correct that issue.
The white screen is an odd one for sure those are supposed to show my animated sexual scenes I worked so hard on, but have gotten several reports of them not showing which is really puzzling because it works fine for so many other including having a wide curved monitor without any issues in viewing everything either. I'm wondering if it has something to do with GPU drivers and or framework for peoples windows versions needing updated. But I'll definitely find out for sure asap.
The reason I chose Unreal is because it's not going to strictly be a VN, there will be some 3D sandbox moments to enjoy that will give more perspective to the story and ability of the character etc.

Thought my PC was acting up when it started.
Very strange especially because in VR itself the program can't be started.
BTW the heating problem is because the game is not optimized.
Indeed the VR start up was a misstep I overlooked, simple setting just needing disabled but is enabled by default on all Unreal projects for whatever reason. Wont be an issue in the coming update!
