After the rework, it doesn't as far as I can see, only when when it comes to your preferences and who you're interested in, but even then I don't think it makes much of a difference, other than maybe closes certain romantic routes.

Agreed. Considering how much is ic pivotal for Max's Life success, dev could easily have dropped some in this game too.
