Most likely a broken save. Did you use any mods beforehand? Those tend to bork saves, as my playthrough on a vanilla game (only URM used) was completely playable.
I never used any mods and I only started playing with version 1.0 so I don't see how it could have gotten messed up.

Choose Isis, agree to Cass's coup plan

Then Isis will suggest killing Cass to make a perfect plot twist for the red path

Then you simply kill, kill everyone you can kill
(Western Lord or Rebels) or Kill one of the 2 important people at the end of the chapter

I made it even worse for MC by raping Val and corrupting Seraphine and Elin

--------------

Or you can choose the "Green Crown" path where you see even Cass is really wary of Isis when your wife is "The Real Storm"
But Isis cant kill Cass if you supported her coup that option is only when you dont participe in the coup otherwise you only get the option to kill cass through callahan.

Well you can just savescum to see her loyalty test for yourself. She's 100% loyal in my books. She struggles with it a bit, asks for the reason and hints she would rather you didn't make a move against her. But then agrees to help and tells Elis she would always be on his side. Then doesn't hesitate at all to use magic on Alaina when she resists. My GOAT Elf.

As for the imprisonment thing. Wouldn't work with her, same as the banishment in my eyes. She knows too much and she's way too powerful, so she has to be killed. Letting her go is just such a stupid risk if you don't trust her to begin with. And unless you're willing to kill her, you might as well just leave her be then.

Also sidenote here. But just saying, the "deranged murder" was highly satisfying in my books. WOULD RECOMMEND to all. (y)
Agreed, also I felt that the queen's reaction was a bit sus when Elis called her out but at the end of the day he's her son and as for Alaina I feel the same , It won't be fair to Cass to banish her, and also I am waiting to see how Alaina's actions will affect the fate of the Elves. Also the change in tune of Elis at the last felt a bit too ominous like he was leaning towards the "hot" in his blood i.e The Red Emperor.

I don't know why we would murder her with our own hands like that. That's completely over the top lol. Totally psychotic, tbh. Mom and sis did not approve.

Plus, Alaina DOESN'T shout out the bombshell truth that could seriously mess up MC's political standing even as she is getting beat to death. From her point of view, she didn't do anything wrong, and she even says so. Why only her and not mom? Why is what she did so wrong to MC? She made sure MC got to where he is now. And she already told him everything earlier. It's pretty much a grey character that had understandable motivation and wanted to maneuver the MC onto throne one way or another, for the hope that he would make favorable decisions about elves due to his half-blood nature.

But anyways, that's the cool thing about this story. Every faction has aspects that you can sympathize with and aspects you might find wrong.

I don't really get what Alaina supposedly did wrong either or the rabid hate she seems to be getting. The comments call her Hitler just seem weird to me. Like even if you want to blame her for the Cass's mom thing the king and Queen both were in on it. Alaina hasn't really done anything other than try and make sure Elis gets the throne

What did it say?
Tried scanning it on jotti and virus total, didn't find anything. (Not on windows so can't check defender)
When I tried it yesterday. It said virus deteched and blocked it. Today it allowed it. When I go to defender history it doesn't show it. only shows it in the download file drop down on the browser.

I think it's a bad idea to get rid of Alaina or Conrad. It would disrupt the status quo and give one side more power over the prince. Alaina is a puppeteer and Conrad is a disrespectful hatemonger so unless we also get a chance to remove the remaining side from the board in chapter 2, I will continue to keep them both.

But, say LM gives us a chance to get rid of them both? That would allow the prince to forge his own path without being influenced by elves or humans and that would be my chosen route absolutely. Middle of the road, a unifying force like Val wants him to be.

After reading a few comment, now I'm really confused and not sure if I'm in the love or corruption path with the queen/mom, both seems to have a lot of passion that for sure, I did my best to avoid any situation where the MC takes advantage of the characters when they are drunk or things like that, but now I feel bad because I think I took advantage of her libido issue, I was sure that was the love path because she seemed to want it too...

If you're dealing with her libido issues, then you're on the lust route. The route itself being determined by the choice you made in the pool with Sera in the illusion. All of the other choices don't currently matter prior to that. As for if Lust or Love is better. It's really down to what you want out of the relationship. I don't think they'll differ much.

People prefer Sera saying directly that she loves and want Elis. Others might prefer the corruption aspect of it. Both lead to the same thing, really. Sera still loves Elis regardless.

To get to the path of love:
1) After talking to the Elves, you'll have a dialogue with her: agree with her.
2) In the previous episode, you had the opportunity to kiss her; do so.
After that, in the new episode, you'll get scenes with her on the path of love.Only decisions made during one's stay in the West are taken into account; everything that happened before that apparently has little significance.

That's actually an interesting perspective. Even Ludwig the Cat said to remain neutral as long as possible. But I think in that case, we'll still have to make a decision sooner or later.

Edit:: I don't know about others, but when I chose the status quo after talking to Serafina, a bug occurred on the final slides. Although, maybe that's the intention...

I think it was done mostly for pure shock value. It was so out of left field and I fucking loved it. Nice to see Elis actually get his hands dirty and do something. (y)

MY EMPEROR!!!

No she doesn't you're right. She just once again, for some unknown reason, HINTS at revealing it like some form of blackmail. Just like how she does if instead of pretending to trust her previously, you just call her a traitor. Right before she flees through a portal, what does she say. "Remember what I know" which in my head. Is just a pure threat of blackmail again. Which IMO is a very strange thing to say, if you're really trying to argue that you're loyal to someone. Hinting at revealing something like that when they don't instantly trust you, is a choice. Oh wait, it's because she's a control freak and can't let go of being Elis Puppetmaster...

As for why her and not mother, it's like I said before. IMO, she will now always choose her kids, over the "elven cause" which is perfect for me. Because I want to end, the bloody elven cause. :giggle:

And I'm just really not a fan of how Alaina handles that scene anyway, vs if you accuse Conrad instead. He handles it like someone who is actually loyal IMO, just frustrated. Just tells Elis he's making a stupid choice removing someone who is actually Loyal, and then leaves.

VS Alaina, who I was going to kill regardless. But she made it rather easy tbh, as she threatens to kill people, then has to be restrained. Because she can't handle not being in control of a situation. She then proceeds to attempt to throw her long term "friend" Sera under the bus with her. And then when that fails, once again brings up the blackmail type shit like that's going to help her...:cautious:

She's a classic case to me of that ol saying of 'No one can serve two masters' and she already has her master in the form of her little Elven cause. Therefore, not trustworthy to be in a powerful position like she's in. And she knows far too much sensitive information to be allowed to live. Simple really. She had to go. (y)

We'll have to wait until Chapter 2, but if Alaina is a snake like Cass. I think people who killed her but refused to kill Cass are in for some real heartbreak. That's why I get a bit of a good laugh when people only do things halfway. People didn't want to kill Cass because she's part of the prophecy and she was believed to be Elis sister at the time. But now they're potentially diving head first into the snake dead end by killing Alaina via being recklessly.

I'm here for it either way, since the goal of my Isis playthrough is pure chaos. No half steps or anything like that. Humans, Elves or anyone else, it doesn't matter.

Maybe I need to reread that scene but it didn't sound like she was implying blackmail at all it was the opposite. She sounded more like she was trying to convince Elis of her loyalty by talking about how she kept it secret the whole time

A cause is not a master it's a motivation. It's her motivation for serving Elis and she's choosing to put her faith in the idea that he'll help the elves. I don't really see what's wrong with that. That's probably the case for every character except the Mom and Elin who are just loyal because they're related. All the vassals and everyone else support Elis based one their expectations for him rather than just blind support

To be honest, I trust Alaina more than Conrad. She's been with us since our banishment. I know Conrad is family, but if I have to choose between him and Alaina, I'm picking the one who's been by our side. Also, since Conrad was the MC father servant, he probably has his own secrets.
