Is there a point in the story where this idiot of an Incubus matures and becomes a competent Alpha Incubus. Its a fun story, but geeze the MC is dense.

Anyone who has ever been directly involved in making a game will know how stressful it can be. The pressure is tremendous and it never lets up until the game is completed which can take a long time. <snip>
You make an excellent point. This comment is not about In a Scent but rather a general observation based on what I've seen repeated over and over.

There are a lot of cringey engineering mistakes that seem to afflict almost all of the games/VNs here on F95Zone, but the main one is lack of planning.

Normally when a project is started like this the story and feature set are completed and set in stone (documented) before the first line of code is written.

I'm not sure if a lot of these "develop it as we go while taking Patreon donations" projects are intentional or they're just amateur hour shit. Given how many of these get abandoned when the work starts getting hard I'm going to assume the latter.

It's probably a lot less painful to just throw some basic concepts out there and see if people like it. Instead of creating a complete story and script just to discover people hate it or dislike the story in the next update. Lots of devs rely on F95 for exposure and putting out a first draft and crossing your fingers that people will like it isn't that strange imo.

which manhwa?
Top Tier Providence - I'm going to give you a crash course in case you're interested: Dude hides and literally says fuck off to everyone and anyone and just gains power up until the point the world is ending is when he's called upon. Honestly it's hilarious and I'm a degenerate for absolute stupid shit. It's a murim/wuxia kind of with an actual mix of manhua and worth the read even if it's just for a little bit. I'd recommend giving it a go honestly.
