So people are still shitting on the game and people how support them? Interesting.

Lets say you are a game developer, not even a porn game developer, just a normal one. You and your small team come up with a game idea that could rival Fallout 3 or even surpass it (With better graphics, just saying). So you and your small work on the game and using Discord, you let people know whats in the game so far with each update, but things are going slow. Instead of support, you receive well pretty much hate for the most part with people saying its slow, there's fuck all, wait a few years then it might be worth it, the developers are just milking money for patreons, etc. Now they see this and start to lose motivation. After maybe 2 years of development, do you know what you get. Not Fallout 3 but Fallout 76 instead. People if you dont like how the game development is going don't comment. The developers will take it personally, causing more delays, sloppy writing or just completely dropping the project all together.
Thats some BS right there. My post will probably get deleted again but idc. This game was announced and by patreons paid for because lewd scenes and sex scenes where promised. 3 Years and we got 0. Then one dev admitted to milking patreons and never deliver anything. When alot of patreons got pissed and stopped funding this the other devs fired that guy and started to make lewd content and promised to deliver.
As it currently stands nothing of that was deliverd. So you keep talking about how ex patreons as myself are downtalking this game but the fact of the matter is we got reason to do so.

Luckily Joe and the team has thick skin and just crack on with the task at hand. In the online world today there is virtually nothing you can do or say that wont result in some groups of people shitting on you. Best is to ignore the naysayers and just push on. The best insult to these people is when you succeed and the total sum of their life is crapping on people because they have achieved nothing.
Yeah thats totally what is going on here. Its not like ex patreons who funded this game for years and never got what was promised gathered here to downtalk the game. Irony off.

mod: Now delete this again for off topic because facts do not matter in this thread.

they could redeem some honour with this release, all of the last updates were delayed and had next to no content.
now they decided to take multiple months to release their next one, and it was still delayed.
if this update has no content, i don't know how people will be able to defend this

The game in its current state would be an awesome 0.1 release -- love the art style, a fair bit to do, and they've really customized the hell out of Renpy (it even tries to talk to the internet to check for updates). There's a solid foundation here for a 0.1 release.

But, we're at release 0.5.1f.

Come back in a few years.

I just wanted to say that the whole game is similar to version 0.1-0.2. a Completely empty game with no content, but with a large screen behind which there is an absolute void. It seems to me that they will continue to milk their ppl as much as possible (previously it was in the open, now it is veiled, under the pretext of a new job) I supported the Crab team for 3 years. I could have bought dozens of AAA + games, but instead spent on a poster in jpg.
Maybe they'll make good on their game, given time. For now, I'm just marking this game as 'keep an eye on'.

Oofff... I can understand that some games have a very slow pacing, but this game just stands at one place. And then the devs keep going round and round. Update after update all we got were some undressing scenes and some font changes like fuck anyone cares about them. I mean if it was still in the early stages it'd have been acceptable but damn this game is 4 years old... Most games start and end in lesser time and deliver great content. And here, even after 4 years, we're still waiting for the first porn content...I don't like to write such things cuz firstly I'm not a patreon and secondly it just won't matter what I or anyone else says... But this time I just could't help it...

One update won't redeem anything. All it takes is one fuck up to lose trust, sometimes permanently, and if you can earn it back it takes far more than one update. Take a look at Something Unlimited. Two years ago it was a joke. Updates would come once a month, have almost no content in them, and add a half dozen new glitches that would persist for months. They literally would say "This content is in this update." and when you'd go to view it you'd get a standard common use background with text at the bottom of the page... and they would only admit months later that they never bothered to make sure they put the artwork into the game for that scene... and it sat blank for two updates.

In mid 2018 they put out a schedule and stuck to it for the most part. The first day of every second month, with one promised character completed, with one or two extra characters worked on. They succeeded with nearly a year's worth of updates, they were regaining the trust of fans, their patreon numbers were steadily increasing... and then around this time last year everything started to fall apart. Suddenly an update was a week late with no explanation and missing two thirds of the scheduled content, and the additional characters were bugged. That one update completely erased whatever trust and goodwill they'd built up in the community and a good amount of people on this forum who subbed to their patreon pulled their support immediately. Why? Because they viewed it as a return to what GSG used to be... and they were right. Every update since has bee in a "release window" allowing them to make it days late without having to explain, the last update and the one due out six days ago were both late with an excuse coming days or weeks afterward without a peep from the team. Bugs are increasing, character artwork is starting to get recycled, and unique stories for each character vanished to a single, homogenized, one size is forced onto all story model. The game is once again a laughing stock and all it took was one missed update for it to lose all the credibility it built up. Trust is hard to gain, easy to lose, and once it's regained it will never be strong again. Honor is meaningless.

Don't really think Sad Crab have anything to worry about:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
This may or may not be their only project, but the money is flowing nicely for them. Not sure how big their team is, but $13K per month on a clearly positive trend says they're doing something right.

We just need to be patient: the goods will come when they come.

They're proof positive that patreon is a terrible way to fund anything. It encourages indolence. As evidenced by the fact that Innocent Witches is four years old with dreadful gameplay, awful puzzles, and a complete dearth of worthwhile pornographic content and they're actually making money. Patience is meaningless in the face of a team as incompetent as this one. Great art, great character design, awful game design, terrible writing, and a lack of meaningful direction and responsibility. It'll come with it comes is a terrible mindset to view a game like this for as even the worst projects you'll find on this site have more porn in them within the first update or two than this thing has in four years worth.

Yep.

But, $13K a month! All you've gotta do is make really pretty art based on a popular franchise, put it in a stable engine, and let the thirst of the public do the rest.

Despite the failures that come with it, its due to Patreon that many creators can build at all and why the adult video game scene has seen a massive explosive. People are thirsty, thirsty motherfuckers and sometimes you do indeed get fucking burned on shit for it, actually a lot of the time you will get burned with few and far between gems shining that much brighter.

But what are you gonna do? You can just fucking not support them, but there's a bunch more thirsty fucks out there who will keep paying. People are willing to buy into the hope of decent content, its something out of the sea of renderings and bad drawings, good artwork and solid coding go a long way into getting people interested. Sometimes for the good like Summertime Saga, sometimes for the bad like Innocent Witches.

All in all, with this I just sort of forget about it for a few months, come check up on it for progress updates, then duck out for a bit longer and that's fine cause I been watching people bitch about this for two years now and that's sort of almost just as entertaining in a fucked up way. Granted, you have every right to be pissed at a creator milking this for so long, whether or nto you pay for it, but still I have every right to laugh at you all.

Ye, I'm half tempted to find a semi talented artist and a programmer to build a game for me. I know how to design a video game. My experience in the industry made me realize it's not something I want to do professionally, but I know how to do it. Of course I don't know any artists with the necessary talent and I have zero motivation to actually work in games anymore, but with the right IP, the right people, and the right pitch it's definitely something I could make some money at. Maybe not a lot of money, but some.
