These variations can be redundant at their worst, but at their best, allows the player to make narrative connections, compare and contrast, and emphasize character and relationship development.
For example, for the Layla and/or Elena paths, there are two important beach scenes.
The first beach scene is key in advancing the MC's relationship with Layla and hints at Elena's interest in him.
The second beach scene, Layla is not present, but casts a shadow over the MC and Elena in their conversation. This scene can advance the MC's relationship with Elena further. We also learn more about Elena as a person, about her family, and the economic gap between Layla's life and Elena's life.
This action can advance the MC's relationship further with Elena. Elena watches the MC play with her brothers with amusement, but it also shows Elena the responsible and unselfish side of the MC. Elena's attraction for him grows even further.
This also repeats with action and visual variations, Elena - with similar emotions - watching the MC play with her brothers for the first time, in their backyard.
2A.3) During the truth or dare game, the double kiss is developed further with Elena asks Layla's permission and the MC to
participate in the three-way kiss dare. During the three-way kiss you can choose to focus on either lady or not.
2B) Elena's solo double kiss on the MC before parting ways. After the second kiss, she says, "That's one's for me." Was the first kiss for Layla or for the MC taking care of Elena's brothers? There's no Layla for the first kiss this time. Elena has the MC all to her lips.
Re-use of assets for different scenes, to me, is just smart production, and like you said, it isn't redundant at all, before your post, I honestly didn't notice any of those assets, because I was focused on the scenes overall, on those girls, on the interactions.
That said I really will have to try Gabi path, just to see the Layla interruption...

You know for sure that this game was made by a woman when Andres (MC's stepfather) is treated like a piece of shit and some kind of monster and villain while Santiago (MC's real father) is treated like a misunderstood man and not that bad. And Emily, the MC's mother, is a typical slut and a horrible mother who's always treated like an angel, a victim of society who has never done anything wrong to anyone.
