I'm not sure if his name gets revealed on that particular scene, but later on we see him and Darryl talking, and yeah he's TJ.

I honestly don't even see Darryl as a villain anymore. He's clearly threatened by MC coming in and besting him at track, seeing Tori flirt doesn't help things, even if Darryl is a typical jock. All the flaunting around Val is meant to evoke an emotional response from the player, since Val isn't going to do anything with him ever and Darryl isn't the type to assault someone.

I think it would be neat to have a way to slowly win him over, he's never gonna be best friend material. With friends like Zach, who needs enemies?). At the least he should be able to come to a mutual respect over track and I'd love a plot to put Tori in her place (not that type of threesome or anything, just something where Tori gets embarrassed).

Darryl is a guy who is the number 1, the biggest "badass" in the area feeling threatened by the new guy.
New guy that both can challenge him on track and is popular with the ladies.
From his (typical jock) perspective, it's someone new entering his territory and taking what's his.

He didn't know the MC was going to the beach that day when Val joined his group...
But because the MC always hanging out with stunners pisses him off he shoots that snarky look as he walks by, as if to say "i'm gonna get this one before you do".
Obviously not of course, but that's what he's thinking.

At the training camp, when you had the option to either Walk Away or Confront Him, after he cut into your race lane, I had initially thought that would be a catalyst moment to establish how the two progress. Walking away would allow for wiggle room and confronting him could make that bridge harder or more difficult to cross. But he overall seems to have petered off into becoming more of a background character since camp.

There might be a number of things that influence how our relationship with him progresses, maybe it's pushing him off or not, maybe it's winning or losing, maybe it's tipping him

I do think the 2 big ones are:
Valeria route yes or no?
Tori route yes or no?

Those 2 should have the biggest influence on how he behaves with us.

I don't see Val routes ultimately mattering, since I think regardless she isn't interested in Darryl that way (waiting for him to pick her up and see what happens). Tori might but I never really thought of Tori as having a route per se. I definitely thought the training camp confrontation could have went somewhere and tipping would have been a nice bonus on Layla's route.

If he just tells us to "fuck off" it means he'll be a resentful asshole for the rest of the story.

Tori is 10% a romance route, 90% a ticking time bomb lol.
Good odds that he'll have some reaction if/when he finds out you been fucking Tori.
Or maybe he'll just ignore because he got over her.

I'm not sure there are Darryl points... maybe there's a flag for tipping him, will have to look.
He reacts in a positive way(as positive as Darryl gets) to it however, that i'm sure.

Nope, no change in points there. Seems a lot of scenes from episodes 11+ don't give points where I thought they would. Even some of the date scenes don't give points.

Yup chicken wings, though I prefer the chicken breast that the MC gets later.
And Darryl is a dick to the MC regardless, so no tip for him. He's lucky I didn't get the option to throw a chicken wing at him.

I seriously doubt that's possible. Plus he just doesn't seem like a good guy to me, or someone that I would want the MC to be friends with, I sure as hell wouldn't be friends with someone like that. Nathan will be coming to Madison Springs soon so the MC won't need any other friends, Nathan is a real one.

Same, I always thought that there is a chance that MC and Darryl could actually become not friends exactly, but maybe less enemies and team up to help Erynn. I'd rather have Darryl as an ally than doucheface.

Back when the hot tub party was the latest episode, all we had to go on was this empty choice on Layla's route as it being a possible turning point in Darryl's friendship.

We had no idea Nathan was coming until this episode. I can understand not liking Darryl based on his character but Nathan wouldn't influence that decision. Back when the hot tub party was the latest episode, all we had to go on was this empty choice on Layla's route as it being a possible turning point in Darryl's friendship.

I don't think that it will matter, as the interaction only happens on the Layla path. So would be MC and Darryl only become friends or dislike the MC less if you're on the Layla path? That doesn't make much sense to me.
I would imagine that any possible burying the hatchet with Darryl will come from this relay race coming up. No doubt it will be winning together and maybe giving him the chance to run the final leg to finish the race and get the limelight or insist on taking the limelight ourselves.
We may even get some back story for Darryl that he needs to win the scholarship to get to MSU, as that is his only chance of going. Whereas Emily has already told the MC that he doesn't need it and it's all paid for.

Yeah I only used the word friends cause I couldn't think of anything else to much f95 brianrot today. But I can see being friends with him if the game with on longer than than Summer if he did help with the Ethan stuff.

cooldevo proved earlier that the tipping doesn't matter. Nyx has hidden points inside other's routes before though. I think all we've pointed out so far is that Nyx has had opportunities to set stuff up and didn't take them. Ultimately it's her story and she'll tell it the way she wants to.
