When we are on the Erynn beach date and get this choice did anyone else think the smear option would be worse than it is?
no consequences as of now if smears.

bit off-topic: wasn't nice to clear 3 pages of unread watched threads.

You seem like missing Alexis had a chance to talk with MC. If she had the chance, Erynn had it too. No need to blame any of them, they were children after all but saying Erynn is blameless in that situation would be willful ignorance at best. Sure MC might have picked a wrong time but leaving MC like that to look at whatever Ethan was showing was wrong. She could have said one moment to them instead of MC. As others pointed out Ethan was constantly bullying MC and she kept being friends with him was wrong. After the confession and Ethan making fun of him, MC stopped talking to her. She is not that stupid to not understand it was because of that interaction. She could have tried to fix things. She is constantly ambushing MC while he is sleeping, as they said she was doing that while they were children too. She could have done that but she did not. That was a mistake too. She said if you don't stop we are done to Ethan, he did not stop and she did not keep that promise and kick him out her life. That was a mistake too. MC told what happened to Emily, Erynn could have asked about it to Emily and clear things with MC but that did not happened either. So, no she handled entire thing terribly.

Was MC blameless? Of course not. As far as we know he did everything to avoid Erynn. Also, we can deduct from his behavoiur if Erynn did everything right but refused to date him, he was going to do everything he did anyway. Also, let's not forget he did all of it as a hail Mary. He noticed Erynn was getting away from him with her new friends, so confessed to him. That's hell of a mistake too.

So, all parties handled things terribly. Also, it's not easy who did more wrong and even if we do it would not be more than personal opinion either. In anyway, kids do these things, sometimes adults too, if they can make amends it's good if not tough luck, no need to drag this on.

P.S. I still do think there is more about this whole situation though. Something Erynn is not sharing. Also, I think Erynn was going to refuse MC even if she had some feelings. At that age, a few years is huge difference and usually kids in high school see kids in elementary as toddlers. You can see Erynn feels like at too at the beginning with her hair ruffling MC. Btw, I think if Erynn was dating Ethan at the time, all of it would make more sense. Though, I think dev could not do it because of possible backlash of NTR people.
Erryn didn't chase MC because she was literally doing what people said she should've done, chewing out Ethan for bullying MC. Yea, Erryn could've responded to his declaration of love better, but you try having some shit like that sprung on you and see how you react; it takes time to process. As far as she knew, Ethan did stop. MC wasn't talking to her, and his only other interaction with Ethan after that was something that Erryn didn't know about.
As for asking Emily, Emily told her to leave him alone; what do you think would've happened if she forced herself into MC's space?
So, yeah, in that situation, Erryn was blameless. Erryn can be blamed for a lot of stuff, but that situation wasn't on her.

Based on the various flashbacks, Ethan was a known 'bully' of the MC, who hated the very close relationship Erynn and MC had. There's a lot of indications in the flashbacks, and from Erynn herself, that this was not the first time she had problems with the Ethan and the MC. So staying back to argue *yet again* would accomplish what? The message hadn't sunk in to that point, why would it yet again?

For that matter, regardless of timing of the confession, why would she leave MC to go listen to Ethan talk about a social media post? Really? That's an appropriate time for that, since she liked the MC? Even if she was embarrassed, there's no way to say that's blameless.

Lexi left Erynn and Ethan and must have "forced" herself into the MCs space when he was sitting outside then too. She even had a conversation with him, kissed him on the cheek, and wished him happy birthday. Perhaps if Erynn had, instead of arguing yet again with Ethan, gone after MC she could have had some "forced" time instead of Lexi to talk about it. But no, she wanted to stay and argue with Ethan, yet again.

So no, Erynn was not entirely blameless. Taking all of the flashback details, and MC's confrontation with Erynn about his confession, into account. MC is also at fault for being stubborn-headed and not actually letting people talk, and making wild assumptions, as seen throughout the entire story to-date.

This is ultimately the main issue completely, regardless of what anyone else did or didn't, may or may not have done at ant specific moment in time.

Perhaps this is the first time that Erryn had enough, I imagine prior to that it was micro-aggressions, so she decided to tell him off.

She left to do something else because she was trying to process what had just happened. She was put on the spot in that situation, and I'm not sure what she was supposed to have done.

Alexis literally came across MC as she was going home and consoled him. Meanwhile, MC was actively avoiding Erryn, and Emily even advised Erryn to give him his space. There is a huge difference.

She was legit cornered in that situation. Not sure how she's to blame when a bunch of shit got dropped into her lap out of nowhere.

For Lexi, you are right. But she still had a chance to sit down and have a conversation with him. So he wasn't completely gone yet. I think you are blurring the two different trips he had together.

The first scene, he was not actively avoiding her. He was sitting outside pouting, which is when Lexi found him. He then ran home and Emily told him to go back and talk to Erynn. So he left his house to go back to Erynn to talk to her. Thus he was not beyond redemption yet.

On the second trip he runs into Ethan, and for whatever reason believes his verbal diarrhea. That's when MC flies off the handle and actively decides to cut her out of his life.

So she could have had once chance to salvage things... after MC left the first time. Had she found him outside pouting, or between that and him coming back the second time, it would have been avoided.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Well, I also believe (not fully) that "princes" Erynn still has unrevealed dirt on her which we have yet to acknowledge.
