I mean im not gonna disagree with you but it also comes down to personality too. If I was Erynn especially when I was younger I would of done the same thing and not said anything. Because I don't like like to make conflict or escalating a situation even if I know what the other person said or doing is in the wrong. I just don't have the backbone to standup for myself let alone another person most of the time as im a very passive person. Because of that it's easy for me to not see it as a big deal but I do agree with you she should of.
I get it and understand that, but that's also the issue. If cunts like Ethan don't get put in their place at an early age, they turn into massive cunts when they become an adult.

MC was a dumbass for professing his love for Erynn when she was talking with two other people. The moment Ethan insulted him, she should have put her foot down right there. "I've had enough of how you treat my friend...........yada yada yada." She didn't.
That's exactly what happened in that scene, she fought Ethan to defend the MC.

Emily pissed me off; she was willing to go along with Andres's demands until she fucked up as a mother. The reveal came from something that had nothing to do with him at all. She was willing to have Andres raise him as a child when he became too difficult to raise, but when it came time to own up for her fuck ups, she threw his ass under the bus.

As for the Erryn situation, yes, Erryn was a dumb child who underestimated her control over Ethan. Honestly, at that age, most children are stupid. As far as she knew, Ethan was apologetic for what he did to MC. MC was also a dumbass for running off without talking to her, but ya know, child. I'm not mad at anyone in that situation for what they did because it gives these people flaws, which I'm fine with.
I agree with your views on both topics.

Yeah she did. According to her, the only problem was this wasn't the first time having that argument.

The argument during the flashback runs along the lines of (paraphrased) "...Again I'm telling you to leave him alone, or else....". So they've been at this point at least a few times prior to this flashback moment. At what number is arguing with Ethan to defend the MC pointless? Yeah she's only a teenager, but even then I'd hope she'd just get that much more irritated and walk away after doing it at least a few times.

When Erynn says that Ethan became a (paraphrased) "normal person" after the MC left town, it would mean Erynn is saying prior to that, Ethan was known for problems with the MC. Again a repetition issue.

Like the saying says: "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." By that point in time, a better response for Erynn would have been to just cut it off and go find the MC. But then MC never would have left town, Ethan never would have blackmailed her, and most of the story wouldn't exist as it does now....

We can only assume that things kept escalating...
The first time probably along the lines of "come on Ethan don't do that" all the way to the flashback we saw where it was more "stop or we are done".
And according to her Ethan did stop at least for a time (trying a different approach to get in her pants obviously).

Yeah she probably should've cut him off way earlier, but that's life...

You know that there has been a lot of talk for the past few years about sociopathy being a highly common and effective trait for large corporate executive level jobs, and we know Ethan's father is CEO of the modelling agency/entertainment firm/whatever it is. That could be passed on by either genetics or environment. Just pure speculation, here. Also, quite often, people like Ethan are irredeemable. Any consequences strong enough to give him an attitude adjustment would probably break him, he's been sheltered from consequences for his entire life.

For sure, there are ton of irredeemable people out in the world. Some people are bad from the start and some need an attitude adjustment from the very beginning. You could have two horrible parents who produce an angel of a child or you could have two wonderful parents who produce the spawn of satan.

My mom is a retired school teacher........ you should hear the stories. You could not pay me enough money to be a teacher.

She should have stopped him right there and then. She should not have waited until after MC ran away.

The MC didn't want to listen to anything that Erynn had to say at that point. Because of the misunderstanding that she had apparently laughed with her friends at his confession. The MC literally legged it, he wasn't listening to anyone or anything, least of all Erynn.

Honestly this is one of things I hate about the story wish Nyx found another way to do it. Or at least showed how Erynn tried a bit more to talk to him before he left , by either trying to have Alexis do it for her , get Mel involved or just skipping school to wait for him. Yeah I get she sent letters and what not but just wish she did a bit more.

Honestly I put alot of the blame on the MC himself rather than Erynn. Even at 13-14 he should have known better than to put her in the position of asking her something so important and personal infront of Lexi and Ethan.
She made the effort to write letters to him, then the little brat didn't even have the decency to read them but tore them up and threw them away. Even if she didn't want to be his girlfriend (which I think she did) they pretty much grew up together and were best friends for years, so I think that he owed her the common decency of reading what she wrote IMO.

That's "coulda/woulda/shoulda" territory, at that spot she did what she felt was best for her friend, she couldn't know she wouldn't talk to her friend for the next 5 years.

She pretty much did. MC just ran away fast enough before she could react.
He literally runs right off.

It's in the story, we see her trying to talk to him the same day, probably 10 minutes later.
And then it's explictly stated by both of them that he did his best to keep away from her for the weeks/month he still lived there.

oh don't get me wrong I do not blame Erynn at all , she tried to make it right the MC was just stubborn. I should wish it was one of those things was shown a bit more than told is all.

Yeah it's just something I wish was a little different or at instead of telling shown a bit more on how she tried and failed more than the one time is all I was saying.

Who says she didn't try to go to Emily? We just know that his behavior towards everybody, including Mel, was bad enough that he got sent away. As for Alexis, she was just a friend of a friend. Hell, he didn't even know she was the daughter of his favorite player. Sending her would've done nothing but get Alexis either ignored or insulted.

to me that more feels like she tried and then felt Embarrassed. so imo she didn't do nothing

I mean my idea of Alexis would clearly be a last resort type of deal. She did try Emily but failed my point was I would of liked to see 1 or 2 more attempts but I understand why it was a tell and not show cause of render time etc etc.

Well it's right there, Erynn does say "Wait! Don't go!" and if he had stuck around I'm sure that he would have witnessed Erynn tearing Ethan a new one and things may have been very different. But we are where we are, you can't change the past.
Sometimes these things happen for a reason though, if the MC and Erynn hadn't had their 5 years apart then things may not have progressed in the way that they are now on Erynn's path.

Exactly, she did nothing. She stood there while her friend got bullied by her other "friend".

The damage was already done. My issue with Erynn is she should have stopped Ethan right there and not have to wait until he runs away.

Everyone in that scenario, except for Alexis deserve a back hander. Ethan, no explanation, Erynn for letting her friend be bullied and especially MC for professing his love in front of other people instead in private.
