It being mentioned that no school would hire her and it being the actual case are two different thing. I'm not saying she's a fame whore I'm saying she has access to media.

Alternately she could just say "go head and do it" which a blackmailer isn't really going to do because he loses all his power the moment he does it.

I know we can ping pong this back and forth but I guess, in the end, it's another subjective personal preference. I need quite a bit more grit and effort to be interested. not even close imo, Erynn 's trauma doesn't really compare that of Charlotte's. Both are bad, but one is def worse than the other.

I wasn't saying otherwise. I am just saying, without us as a catalyst for change, Erynn, if she's lucky, will end up going down a similar path as Char did. The abuse, being forced to either be a prostitute or fuck Ethan (or probably both), she'll have it somewhat worse. Not sure if she'd end up beaten half to death, but the rest of it seems a similar path. Not sure that she'd end up at the peak of the profession, either. Heh. Imagine Ethan as father to the two girls! ugh.

I can't see that any different than some paparazzo snapping a dick pic of you in the bathroom and then threatening to put it out there. Would the general public be upset with you for having dick or having sex with your partner? I really doubt it.

How long would a person be allowed to jerk you around before you said enough? How many people would you involve? How much drama would you create? I'm not saying it's unrealistic for a person to feel/behave that way... I just don't care for it. (I'm glad though that she didn't fuck Nathan. If it was a sex tape that she shot I'd be more inclined to agree. But a creeper, peeper spy video? That could happen to anyone, anywhere. I feel that people would see her as a victim (which she is) rather than some unemployable sex fiend. Then again... as someone said recently... the world is not fair.

I'm aware of that. We were talking about Erynn making sure people know she is the victim. In the real world, if Erynn was to lose her job because of something done illegally to her that she had no control over, she would have no trouble winning a case for unfair dismissal.

Except she isn't a teacher yet, she is a model, using the money to fund her education to get to her goal. You can't sue for a career that you never get to have.

She wouldn't have to sue. The public and proactive route might even increase your desirability at some schools. I can't see a school saying "we're not hiring her because she was stalked, violated and exploited". Then again... world.. fair.. .etc.

I don't know what world you're living in, but no school in the US would do that. They expect teachers to be puritan saints or married matrons. It's like Little House on the Prairie still. I guess it's in reaction to all the sex scandals, but it's ridiculous.

We're dying for teachers here so I don't think being the victim of a crime would affect your chances. But we're just bouncing the smack ball back and forth so who really knows.

You don't know anything about the district I was in. Erynn would seem like a saint comparatively. I get how school is supposed to go but that's not how it works everywhere, especially in the smaller districts. They take what they can get. When the alternative is literally not having a person fill the role, they take what they can get. It's why programs like Teach for America exist, to try to get qualified teachers into the areas they need them. My junior/senior English teacher was placed in our district from that program. Meanwhile my Spanish teacher was literally someone barely a couple of years older than me who didn't know any Spanish. We had a teacher get in trouble for carrying on campus after a shooting but not get fired over it. The world just doesn't work the way it likes to say it does.

1. You're right, he doesn't, but MC can't get mad at her about Ethan when he wasn't even willing to tell her when he was in town. Especially when he spent years ignoring her for shit she didn't even do
2. I'm reasonably sure that not telling him she was best friends with her crush also adversely affected his relationship with Erynn in the short term. The decision to continue the relationship, given all the information, was taken out of his hands.
3. Key phrase: when he was asleep. In neither of those two interactions, when he's awake, does she even hint at either of those two things. She's well aware that he's a different person and treats him as such.
4. She does follow through, just because she doesn't go all the way doesn't make her immature.
Her naivety in believing that if she gives Ethan what he wants short of sex is what got her in over her head. Has she had immature moments? Sure but that wasn't one of them.
I will agree with you that the MC is teaching her to open up more because before that she was closed off as hell. But that's more of a psychological issue than a maturity one.

The MC does owe friend cortesy to Erynn, a lot of cortesy, he has been stonewalling this girl for years and yet she still wants to reconnect, THAT'S FUCKING AMAZING!!!!
Given the information that we now know about the way he stonewalled her for the last few years, if Erynn reacted to the MC with complete indifference, i wouldn't blame her, not even a little bit.
This is an old friend trying very hard to reconnect, despite the MC being an asshole to her for years... and yet he "owes her nothing", seriously what kinda person thinks like that? One that is a terrible friend honestly.

Erynn is well within her rights to hang out with whomever she wants... We don't get to decide who our friends hang out with.

But at least after the talk he would have solid grounds to say "if that's your decision... i guess this is it for us".

This isn't even about Erynn, we don't have to go through any of that because Erynn hates him too, more than the MC.
This is just common sense of having friends, who have other friends, including someone you may think is a huuuuge douche...
Can you imagine if a character, any character, went "I want you to stop talking with Layla, i don't like her" and gave no further reasons?

The fun part is that Erynn isn't making any of these demands to the MC, she's just happy he's here.
The MC is the one that after 5 years comes around still pissed off and considering UNNACEPTABLE that Erynn is "friends" with a guy he hates.

In my opinion the Erynn relationship grows up very naturally, it's not dumped on the players by surprise.
At first she just wants to be friends again(and we have plenty of options for simply staying friends), she even fights and tries to deny the attraction she's feeling... until she can't fight it anymore and they start making out and eventually dating.

Sometimes i wonder if people actually play her route? Or just go "ahh she's annoying" in the first 5 minutes and never try again?

that is quite literally not how trauma works.

from her perspective, the one and only time she was intimate with someone, it was recorded by some psycho, and used as emotional, and physical blackmail against her. She's hardly going to be jumping into bed with more people. She's said multiple times, and shown multiple times that she wants more, but her trauma response kicks in and the wall goes up. Healing from trauma (or any mental ailment) isn't a linear A-B process, it's up and down, some days are easier, some days it feels like it's crushing you.

Fwiw, I suspect she also attempts to tell MC about both Ethan and the situation multiple times, but the time never works, for example MC has to excuse himself after they talk about the laughing situation.

Is she a flawed character, yeah. But so are the rest of the love interests. That's what makes good, deep characters.
