funny enough Zack isn't my most hated "best friend" anymore and I use that term loosely. My most hated friend type of character isn't even a POS he is just so damn annoying I actually would prefer to have Zack over him.

Yeah, I hate Zach, but he is not as bad as the worst best friend in the history of AVN, whose game I'm not sure if I could state in this thread.

To be fair, he isn't all bad. If you are one of the three people in the world who picked option to hang out with him after Erynn drama (instead of getting drunk and hooking up with your teacher, or coming back to Erynn asap like the perfect little simp) you can have a completely normal hang out with him, where MC and Zach just do guy things and have a good time.

He suffers quite a bit from being a convenient device for the narrative to make MC look better in comparison, and honestly, the way MC acts towards him most of the time doesn't paint the MC like a good friend, either -- he basically never tries to actually talk with Zach and let him know the stuff he's doing is wrong, and is instead much more keen to just dunk on the guy in his internal monologues. Meantime, we can see that Zach can listen and takes things to heart every now and then. Like, when the girls explain to him why he shouldn't just presume things without asking.

He is often used as the dumb guy so the MC can look better, that's true.

But, i don't agree with anything else.

I honestly haven't seen much progression from this, every girl tells him this and he never stops being pushy, loud and annoying the girls.
And of course he still treats them as objects to be acquired.

The fact that Tori shuts him down without even saying his name is her most redeeming quality

The best friend in Dreamland is way worse for me

while im way behind on that 1 I probably rank them about the same. Only reason I would put the DL above Zack is because he comes across like he is actually a friend while Zack feels more like someone you just kind of used to hang out with.

Well since we are naming ones that we find worst. I put the Moonlight one as my #1 hated / disliked friend not because he is a bad guy. He honestly probably a decent dude and friend. But I find he is so damn annoying and stupid at times I had to take a break several times to get through his scenes.

I honestly would rather have Zack over that 1 just because while I don't like Zack at least I can tolerate to be around him without finding him too annoying. Plus the whole idea of cucking Zack out of all the ladies he is interest in is very fun to do as well. Honestly I treat Zack like a punching bag it never gets old or boring to do stuff to do him when we can.
