What happens in the secret paths?
I had a walkthrough mod that hinted a secret erynn path if I ignored alexis on the plane but no hint about nikki or alexis secret path
That's a good possibility. Hadn't considered it being something like AI animations that isn't about content but more how she makes the game... Can certainly see people not liking that and it causing a debate.
I read what she said about not normally including the snippet of the scene in this version of the game as indicating it was content that people would maybe have an issue with - something that she would include in another version of the game. A hint towards very slightly darker / cheating / ntr material or whatever you want to call it, since she's mentioned that version of the game before. Will see I guess, can't see it being anything too serious and wouldn't necessarily be against it depending on how it was handled...

Alexis secret path is the Layla path and friend zoned Erynn who's trying to get the MC and Alexis together. Alexis is resisting but she does obviously fancy him, there's not much content on that path as of yet.
Nikki secret path only happened like 2 or 3 updates ago where you can gain Nikki points by flirting with her, despite being in a relationship with Cara. Again not much content but could certainly be interesting in the future.
It would be interesting if she put at least a touch of the things she originally planned...
I have to say i doubt someone like Ethan could be present at the BBQ...
Zane? It's a stretch but it could happen, he's a coworker to Adriana, maybe she likes him(not sexually).
Or maybe it's Santiago being flirty with one of the girls.
I'm very curious on what route this "special" scene will happen.
It does sound like something someone can include as a test.
Not much in the current version, some teasing and hints that certain girls want to jump in the bed with the MC... but nothing concrete actually happens yet.
The description Justaphase gave you is correct, i'd just be repeating his words.
It's a future investment, maybe give it a shot after you've done absolutely everything else and keep it as a save for the future(after the new version, not much point doing it now).
Using Ethan would be far too much for a little experiment to test the water, can be pretty sure that wouldn't go down well! I'm interested in Zane's role, but if anything he seems to be being built towards a role with Erynn or Nikki's paths rather than anyone at the BBQ.
If she is referring to this kind of thing I'd say the most likely is possibly Gabi who could be there through the school and some kind of relationship to Santi, although not clear exactly what that relationship is. Seeing her flirting with other men might be something to test what people thought, and she's not a main LI so it's less likely to wind people up quite so much.
Maybe something simple like if you're on Layla's path then Alexis brings another guy from college to the BBQ as a date. Or specifically on ASP route Alexis flirts with another man to try making MC jealous? Be interesting to see how people would react to girls dating with other men if you're not on their path. I'm not sure how I'd feel about that one really, mixed feelings... Or it might be nothing to do with any of this!
You are right, Ethan is too "hardcore" for it, plus according to Nyx he'll go away soon(and thank God for that)...
Zane could be expanded to more than just Erynn-Nikki, he's a former student of the school and of similar age to both Alexis and Erynn, very likely a former classmate... Boyfriend of her BFF... surely Alexis knows him...
Maybe he was in the position of "Do i go for Erynn or Alexis?" all those years ago...
And maybe she had a thing for him(like every other girl in town apparently) too before he became Erynn's BF.
Layla also thinks he's hot, but since he was very professional about not wanting to get involved with Valeria... I don't expect much from Zane in the Layla path.
He's a lot more forward when it comes to Nikki and Erynn...
I highly suspect Gabi is Santiago's ex... their separation is quite recent when the game starts, maybe Santiago invites her as he's trying to "make things right" with her...
We get to watch him trying to woo her back, and we get choices to:
A-Stay quiet
B-Ruin it for him(showing a degree of jealousy, while doing it).
Personally, i would love something like that
Alexis bringing a random guy (mechabartender maybe?) on the Layla path, would be an interesting first step in terms of giving "dumped" girls relationships.
Starting here, then getting expanded to other girls when it makes sense.

Late to this quote, but MC was legit ignoring/ avoiding Erryn until she saw him at the club. Not sure how alexis thought she was going to pull off dating him while hanging with Erryn. Thats the hijinks game i want to play

Just avoid the usual stuff like how her current career and future career don't vibe, how she's a dumbass for dealing with Ethan and her being frigid and it'll be a great discussionit's a long way before the next episode , so there's still time to riling up Erynn fans a bit more

It doesn’t really sit right with me that Alexis would show up with someone else if we’re on Layla’s route. We already know that MC is the first guy she’s ever brought home, which is a big deal for her. So bringing some random guy just to make someone jealous doesn’t make sense. If those lines hadn’t been said, I could understand it, but in this case, it would break the consistency of Alexis’s character development. Gabi fits much better as someone who could mess up Layla’s or Erynn’s route. Something still doesn’t sit right with me. If we look at MC, he’s tall, dark, and handsome, has tattoos, and is connected to sports — basically the exact type of guy Alexis would be into. And no one else has been introduced. We don’t know any other guy. So suddenly having someone similar just show up out of nowhere doesn’t make sense. Lake knows MC is her type, and Erynn knows it too. It just doesn’t fit. But okay, let’s assume someone like that does appear.
What is MC supposed to think in that situation? He’s got Layla — and even if we choose Elena, MC still shows some common sense, since he doesn’t want to be the guy who took Layla’s virginity and then went off to fool around with two other girls.
So now he’s supposed to go for Alexis, who supposedly already has a boyfriend? I don’t expect MC to always make rational choices, but he’s shown signs of having some sense. This whole “random guy for Alexis just to make her chase MC” idea doesn’t fit at all.

I'd also like to mention the ASP. Here we know that Alexis is madly in love with the MC. She wants to, but can't because of Layla!
Ihope Zane isn't too much of a thing going forward with Erynn. Them having a chat and Erynn explaining what happened would be good, but not really much beyond that. She's been at the centre of the main story drama for so long with the blackmail. Once that's over I'd really prefer if she takes a bit more of a back seat and has a few updates of just enjoying being free and starting a happy relationship with MC without immediately jumping into Zane getting involved... Would be far more interested in him flirting with Nikki!
With the picture of Santi in her house and her splitting up with her partner that's obviously what Nyx is hinting at. Just feels a bit too obvious, like how she was hinting that Santi was Layla and Alexis' dad for a while. It's probably true, but also wouldn't be surprised if Santi isn't her ex at all and knows her in another way. Either way, it's an excuse for Gabi to be at the BBQ.
I think I'd prefer it if Nyx doesn't do this, although a bit on the fence. Obviously if you're not on their path there's nothing wrong with girls dating someone else, it's not like it's ntr or anything. But I think I'd find it really weird if, just as a random example, Erynn got back together with Zane on one of my non-Erynn saves. She wouldn't be doing anything wrong, but it would feel a little like she was cheating on my MC from my Erynn save! Kind of stupid and I'm sure I'd get over it.
True about Alexis, it would be a little odd. If she had another guy that she was ready to bring home and introduce to her family then we probably would have heard about him by now. Thinking about it, I think it's more likely that whatever this test event is happens on quite a specific route, not just a generic solo path. So maybe Alexis does something specifically on ASP, or Gabi does something only if you're sleeping with Gabi and Layla given the slight Gabi / Layla rivalry?
That would also probably make people happier about Nyx including this stuff. I'm absolutely fine for Nyx to include a bit of this type of thing for people on chaotic cheating routes where it would fit better, but I'd prefer that she kept it completely out of the wholesome romantic monogamous LI paths. Hopefully that's the case!
