Ethan only says to Zach that helping him with Val may be an issue if she helped the MC and therefore had a run in with him where he (most likely) threatened her. So he knows that he can't do his whole nice guy routine with her as she's already seen what he's really like.
Otherwise Ethan doesn't even know Val as they never met, so is confident that he can help Zach with her.

Usually, drugs follow to make her even more "willing."

I can just imagine a scene where Erynn is taken to see the lawyer about the Ethan blackmail and he's one of the clients that she has escorted.
You never know who can be involved in that shady business, go to the police and one of the higher ups like the police chief is a regular or something. Or his father has connections.
Though obviously all of this likely isn't going anywhere because (thankfully) the Ethan stuff is going away soon. Hopefully he dies a painful death. Or like I said before gets put in prison with some huge bull of a guy who makes him his bitch, so he knows how it feels.
