Lay the Spire missed opportunity.Slay the spire is sure way different than I remember
Ehh the review on this one at least is pretty damming, it's not like 95% of reviews on this site which say 'didn't like it 1 star' or '5 stars for potential'. The sad reality is that the majority of porn games are not good.Man this seems like a bad habit now/trying to trigger me and piss me off:
1) I request/+1 a game in the Game Request
2) The game gets a topic
3) Immediately gets slapped with a 1-star/2-star review within the next 24 hours
4) I almost lose interest of the game/lose interest in it and don't play it
Every... single... time! I will try this one cause someone showed it to me though.
Happened last time for Ars Magna, spent like 50 hours on it (Played it THRICE).
There should be a rule that reviews cannot be accepted until at least 48 hours from topic creation, like that, everyone from every timezone would at least have a chance to test any game appropriately!
Note: BTW, this is why I don't review games/write reviews; I'm afraid to overshoot the review (so that people play it then be disappointed) or undershoot it (so that players avoid the game and those who try it feel like they've been betrayed)
i wouldnt call it a good review when theres ZERO mention of the ADULT CONTENT in the PORN game.Ehh the review on this one at least is pretty damming, it's not like 95% of reviews on this site which say 'didn't like it 1 star' or '5 stars for potential'. I think the bigger problem is that the reviews and ratings are often so ridiculously subjective that they're not at all useful. The fact of the matter is that one person's trash game can be another person's treasured game. That's just how things work. Ultimately, the rating score is useless 90% of the time, no matter how you look at it.Man this seems like a bad habit now/trying to trigger me and piss me off:

Another idea is to simply remove the Ratings altogether, simply leave the Reviewing option without rating the game!

I'd say that reflects more on the game than the review. The porn was such a non factor or so disconnected from the gameplay that it wasn't even worth mentioning. Good porn games intergrate the two or at least have one lead clearly into the other with reasonable justification, if good scenes are the only thing you're hunting in a porn game you'll have more luck on sad panda.i wouldnt call it a good review when theres ZERO mention of the ADULT CONTENT in the PORN game.
This comment is exactly why I ignore reviews with an exception. Steam negative reviews are the only reviews I ever look at and even then I restrict them to a certain hour limit to remove the reviews made up by dipshits or the 30 minute gameplay ones. With the reviews left at that point I still scan over them for a more open minded and thorough gameplay review and do take them with a grain of salt as it may not be for them but I could enjoy it. Reviews these days are just straight up cancer to look at most of the time.I think the bigger problem is that the reviews and ratings are often so ridiculously subjective that they're not at all useful. What can be useful are the reviews themselves, IF they are written well... and most of the time they're really, REALLY not. They rarely talk about the game properly and are more of a "I don't like thing" or a "I like thing" compilation...
I usually cross reference ratings from DLSite or VNDB for Japanese games. The way I gauge DLSite star ratings is:Man this seems like a bad habit now/trying to trigger me and piss me off:
