Love the game, will definitely try out Valdana after this.
Other than this and Valdana, are the any other games with this genre?

Several. Depending on exactly what aspects you enjoy. About the closest that mirrors just about everything is the
Kangoku Senkan series of games. Also called Prison Battleship. Other sci-fi themed games involving corruption of crew include Space Journey X, Last Hope, Stellar Dream, and many others.

Probably one of my favorite games. And I need recommendations for similar games. I've already played almost all of Tjord's backlog. The only one I haven't touched as of now is the War one.
You mean Asturion? Well, there's your recomendation.

I've made a few recommendations in the Valkyrie thread that might interest you. Don't know if new exciting things have been released since then, but sadly good corruption games are surprisingly scarce.

With some luck, Tjord will grace us with another banger further into the year, but there's no real way to know exactly when and they've already said in the past that they prefer not to talk about upcoming content unless they are getting close to release.

So I've just started playing: is this game trying to make me hate the mc? Like I know going in he's supposed to be the bad guy, but he's also very whiny, not very good at his job, and apparently ugly. And the story makes me really want the good guys to win, which he obviously is fighting against.
Same. I couldn't really enjoy the game because the MC just sucks so hard.

Even as someone that overall likes this and the sequel, the MCs being ugly (in the sequel fat to boot) seems a weird choice. I get some folks get off on hot women being forced to be sexual with ugly people, but it's not for me. Would be nice to see a game made in this style where MC is average or even attractive. I don't hit the gym four time a week just to play as a slob in a video game haha

I agree with you, but I do think this is just another case of incompatible fetish. I don't get the ugly bastard meme but it's way too common to not be a very specific thing people are into. If I had to guess what it is it's that if it's a chad dominating women it wouldn't feel like a "fall" for the women, it would be a even a favor to them if the chad was actually attractive.

The fat ugly bastard is a staple feature in Japan H genre, especially in the mind break, domination, mind control and humiliation fetish department.

It's not a strange choice if you had watched Japan Hentai before.

There is also a practical reason to the ugly bastard without any redeeming quality: nobody wants to be them or look like them, and thus you aren't involuntary promoting rape or sexual assault when you are doing a corruption game.
It's harsh, but there is always a minority of people who confuse a protagonist for a hero, and let us be honest, they are not helped by the writers who want you to root for awful people.

It saves the artists and illustrators a lot of time by not being needed to draw the finer details of their looks.
