No, reselling sites you won't find and if you find they are taken down as fast as the wind. Look, the fight against uploading sites and reselling sites is different and with reason.

Even in free uploading sites, people are still making money off of your game because of all the ads they stuff into the sites. But even they plenty of times make the download premium only and plenty have rules like you can't download stuff over 1gb without a premium account. Either way someone's making money off your game which is why they bothered to upload it in the first place. So I don't see a difference.

To be fair, he does actually share it for free. All his official releases are free, only the betas and pre-releases are not. But he even posted links to beta 3 after someone leaked broken versions.

All of those things happen all the time. You can find any comic you want to download right now online for free or for a price from one of those pay download sites. If you're against it ok but why is this particular Italian company being targeted when theyre just one of hundreds

Yes, hundreds of sites do this but we can't realistically keep tabs and talk about every single one at every exact moment. This thread is talking about this website, it is utterly pointless to mention others.

Premium download sites are different anyway since you pay for the bandwidth and storage space, not the games specifically.
Actually claiming you have rights to these games and selling them is completely awful.

The significant and should be obvious difference is that ad companies are paying you.
You're not being paid for a product you have no license for.

How can you not see the difference between sites that share games for free with, sites that possible make money with ads or premium hosting accounts and a site that is selling the game claiming that it's their work.

All of the games on this site are reuploaded elsewhere, way more than just this Italian company has reuploaded Harem Hotel and put it behind one of those pay download sites. Why target this one company in particular. And why care when you're not losing any money.

It's pretty simple and it all boils down to this: they are profiting from someone else's labor. If they made a translation patch and sold that, it would've been one thing, but reselling the whole game as theirs is a no no.
They are both infringing on the author's IP and scamming their clients by making them pay for a product that was not even meant to be sold. And in doing so they are infringing on Illusion/Kotaku's IP too, since they stated that it's fine to make games with HS screenshots but not to sell them.
There is no reason for those people to gain any money for work they didn't do, it's as simple as that.
Of course we're all on a pirate forum and know people will pirate stuff, but there's a very big difference between sharing pirated software and selling it. Both are illegal, but the second is a more serious offense, to the point that it might even be criminal.

All they're doing is the same as everyone else uploading media they didn't make for profit. Well anyway I was just wondering why Runey picked at this particular company when it's just one of hundreds, and why he cares about any of these hundreds of sites doing it when he's still making 8k+ a month like always and it has no effect on him. I would only care If this negatively affected me somehow.

You are being paid for a product you have no license for. You're uploading some wanted media you didn't make, giving it away, and taking ad money from it. That's like uploading the latest UFC fight to YouTube and making ad money from it.

Thank you for the response, I do not know the workings of the uploads and wrongly assumed that the OP's of those threads, updated and shared the uploads themselves and not the developers.

Anything illegal is criminal. And every dev on the site has to deal with others profiting from their work. I just don't see why Runey both, went after this company in particular, and why he cares when no other dev cares.

Modern looking website + games that are high quality (ofc they are stealing them) = people paying (thinking they are paying for premium devs and games)

I think that why they are getting sells, someone needs to shut them down, especially ICSTOR, they are using his game renders a lot (you know... for making the website look premium)

In some cases thats still true, but there are a lot of developers on this forum uploading their stuff themself.
