Since your last message, of early 2022, the core team remained the same: ImperatorAugustus and I.

But in the beginning of development for this version there was UnceliusM, who generated the new tutorial slaves, as well as a better background for the Serpentine guards.

And near the end of the development cycle, for a brief period, Lokplart joined us back (he and I were developing v2.2 in 2020, later joined by Imperator; the dream team ^^).

Edit: Let me not forget that, parallel to that, there are people working on mods. Namely Negro Tercermundista (monster slaves) and bews (slaves and art overhaul)
You've caught my attention with monster girls mod. Is that already available or still in dev? Would it be linked on this thread?

I would assume so, though last news about it was in December 2023.

where can i get mods?
Every one that was released before v2.3 has been included in the game.

Whenever a new one gets released, I link it in the main post. For now, no mod has been released for v2.3.

finally... Can i ask how to translate for this game? i'm a chinese player.
Hi!

Unfortunately, translating the game is close to impossible. The concept is simple however, open the file "jack.qsp" with the software Qgen (included in the game files), then simply translate all text.

There is already a Chinese translation of version 2.2.x, out there somewhere (I don't know where, but Chinese users that come here told me it existed).

When googling Jack-o-nine-tails and sorting by "results from a year ago max", some forums are in Chinese, so probably look there (although I read the translator make people pay for his version). If you find a link, something official and primary for the Chinese branch, please share with us, it'd be nice to put it in the wiki and be able to better guide Chinese speaking players in the future.

The Chinese versions are all translated by individuals and there is no official Chinese version.

The gap between the Chinese version and the Chinese version is very large. After all, not many people are willing to translate.

As you said, if you need the Chinese version, just search on GOOGLE

The latest Chinese version is 2.23, but it is actually a merger of 2.2 and 1.75 Chinese versions.

If possible, I personally would like to add a MOD to replace the character, or have a tutorial on how to replace the character.

The above remarks were translated by GOOGLE

This is intuitive. Search the picture of the character you want to replace, then replace that picture with another one (with same width and height).

To modify the lore, open jack.qsp with qgen, the search (ctrl+f on western keyboard). Copy paste what you want to search and replace.

What does this mean?
In custom start, you can click on the text under the portrait to get a more detailed explanation. Basically, it used to be that Uncle Tom had stat maluses in story mode, to fit with his background. Now other characters also have these maluses or stat decays, but also some perks (I think the butler gets theater tickets for free, and the doctor can act as a nutritionist, etc.)

So to compile FastQSP, what version do we need to pull from and build so we can play on linux? Went through this about... 4 years ago? can't remember anything anymore and I don't know the current git repo you're using for QSP

nvm i figured it out:
repo:

Compiling on debian:

Deps:
sudo apt install qt5-qmake libonig-dev

Modify the .pro file in the top directory of the engine:

# Detect GCC
QMAKE_CXXFLAGS += -O2
QMAKE_LFLAGS += -Wl,-O1

# Detect MSVC (if needed)
win32-msvc* {
QMAKE_CXXFLAGS += /O2 /GL
}

Do the same forh the .pro file in qsp/ and gui/

qmake
make

cd build/release/bin/
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$pwd:$PATH ./jack

file>open

browse to this downloaded game
open the game jack.qsp

Done

The 2.3 changelog fails to distinguish the changes from the 2.2.7 dev version which I've been playing. Can I get a list of exactly what's changed since 3 months ago?
I think all changes in the changelog above the “distinguished color palette” line refer to update from 2.2.7.0
