The other thing with the release rate is that people don't consider the 2 side project releases and the side story chapter. I think i'm with most (maybe? i dunno) in preferring that the sole focus was the main game, but even so it's not like the dev is just sitting around in radio silence with nothing to show for it.

In my opinion, it would be better to focus on one game. If you develop 3 projects at once, none of them has your "total focus", i.e. the quality and ideas will not increase for each of them. Also every project has a quite long development time which let's the guys who play them back a bit frustrated. So, as long as there is no developer team, I still think it simply would be better to focus on one project, finish that and then do the next one.

Always working on the same game can become really boring for the dev.

uh but most normal game dev work on one at a time, sure they are paid and its their job but boring? Compared to programmers who have to mostly only follow others design, devs here have all the freedom for their game. If making your own game could ever be boring then game developing is just not for you(them).

Many artists, authors, playwrights, composers, etc. work on more than one thing. They put a thing that has been started aside, and work on something else. Then, hopefully, return to the first thing they had started... Sometimes not. History is replete with unfinished works, that were never completed before the creator died, having completed several masterpieces after pausing on a work.

I'm not trying to compare a porn developer to Van Gogh or Schubert, but the same principle applies. The creative juices that were strong at the start of a game wane. Or a mental block has occurred, and the developer needs to think about how to continue. Sometimes working on something else can recharge that lost energy and/or bring new solutions.

Trust me.The devs that are working on a single game for a long time sooner or later reach a point when they need at least 1-2 months vacation from that game.Even these who finish the game fast-like 12-18 months also need some time for recharge.Just see ICSTOR and Iccreations, even Lewdlab,DC and Mr.Dots.

Actualy right now there is only one who realy menage to do that-Mr.Dots.Others have abandoned the 30 days between updates plan, long ago.
whatever the level of quality, this does not justify the fact that we had just three updates in a year of development. I believe that dev are expressly slowing development to make more money as long as possible (just like L&P). justify slowness by quality is just shit. Otherwise, how do you explain that DecentMonkey delivers every month with a huge amount of high quality renders (1200 to 1400 per update). And there's also SerialNumberComics (FoTM) who deliver every month with a good quality and quantity content.

First, it's not fair to compare different Devs. Each of them has a totally different life and background. They aren't he same machines.
Second, quality is a matter of opinion. I think Stoper is much superior and much more detailed in his renders.
Third, the story of this game and its multiple options make it much more complicated to develop.

I have to agree. My first lousy steps in Daz3D are very, very depressing. I work on a potential female MC for a potentional VN. I didn't even set up a minimal scene just the char. Lighting set up is a nightmare (but this seems to make the difference between a nice render and an excellent one).
And if you read what can and must be done on postwork, oh dear! Not to forget the posing of the models! Yeah you can just put them in but fine tuning their gestures, where and how they look is quite a task. This takes a lot of time. True, if you are not a total noob like me, things go quite faster, but still it is a very big amount of work. Just putting in a model, post it, put some clothes on and render it, believing you will get something nearly as stunning as Stoper produces, you are totally wrong!

BUT! This is a big problem! On one side, the aspects for a dev mentioned above (including telling a story and thinkin about scenes work) and on the other side the pack of horny fappers can't wait to see often updates with many scenes because they really really like the art, story, etc. This can and will never work, as long you work as a single dev. On the other hand people playing the VN have to reduce their demands! It just don't work this way.

Otherwise, how do you explain that DecentMonkey delivers every month with a huge amount of high quality renders (1200 to 1400 per update).
I agree with you that the Monica MC in this game is really really hot. But I quit playing this game, way too much grind. And to be honest, the amount of renders is true, but not nearly the quality of Stopers' renders, and, many of those renders are exactly the same scene set up, just placing the camera in twenty different positions, so the real number of scenes he set up is quite lower.

BUT! Does it reduce the quality of fapping? Not for me at least! It does what it is intended to do. So Stoper could say, okay, I reduce the quality of my scenes to have a bigger output, because the fapping pack would do so even with way less quality. Neither that's his demand on himself, he wants to produce high quality content, neither the paying customers/supporters of him want this, because they want to see such excellent art, therefore they pay money each month.

So people should just take what they get, _for free_, and enjoy it. It's not the only VN out there, many other gorgeous female MCs are waiting out there to get depraved by the player, they are wating for you eagerly, go get them tiger! :D

You do realise that we have a great number of way more successful games than FB,that so far have even less than 3 updates this year?
And yes the quality of renders realy matters and can save an average game making it very good in terms of patrons. Also being one of the 2 most wanted types helps a lot-incest and harem.Sadly female MC don't add much patrons
I am not for or against but this are images from episode 1 and no main characters. Just for people's knowledge.
Yeah, truth but if you didn't saw these are not an images from update 1 or even 2.So that can't be an excuse for the less than average quality.

and trust me I've been working in game industry for over 5 years and our team never have enough time on the project we focusing on not to mention working on a side project. 1 year development time isnt even that long plus it the development time is also related to how effective or how much time you actually spend working per day.

Well then give us your game to see.For 5 years must be a pretty good game.
Just because you can work 5 years only on 1 game, that don't make everyone in gaming industry to do exact same thing.

I find it pretty funny when people mention other devs in comparison to stoper. Imo, stoper is the best on render terms. I love Mr Jet and DPC works and I find their renders pretty good, but no way in hell I'd compare them to stoper's. I see many people mentioning Icstor as well, but, again, he is far away from stoper's renders (and I won't even say how bad I think his games are, but I digress).

I've been a fan of stoper's works years before he decided to do this game, so I was well aware that he is a perfectionist and I knew exactly what I was getting into when I decided to support him and I don't regret it a bit.

Complain about the story. There I believe comparisons could be made and there're better games. But not renders.
