I have created 99 renders and 13 animations till now
That's the reason the update is taking so much time because it is huge in terms of renders and animations in it
(n)
99 renders are not that much for a huge update.
.... there are devs that do 300 renders and more every 2/3 months update
...but in what world does this sufferer of laziness live?

#Development Blog 120

Hi everyone it's been quite a while since I gave you guys a proper update on the development of the game. If you remember the last time I told you that I was suffering from " CONNOR EFFECT" and doctor had given me a procedure that had to be followed vigorously for months and got myself cured of it ( for more details about it check my last blog #119.
Coming back to the update I had shared some sneak peaks of what is to come earlier.

I have created 99 renders and 13 animations till now and there are shitloads of them on the way. My pc almost got burnt yesterday because of all the pressure I have been putting on it for past weeks but don't worry I won't let it explode.

That's the reason the update is taking so much time because it is huge in terms of renders and animations in it. In this update we get to see Blake, Mr. Parker, The Mayor and many others get nailed by Connor in every position and at every place possible. I know I have been told on patreon that the only action in the game till now has revolved only around Jess and Connor while the rest of characters are just given teases which led to you all accusing me of blue balling and milking. Taking all of your advices into consideration I have decided to change the update and give proper action to others too.

I know how happy you guys must be to read it since all your wishes are about to come true in v0.56 which arrives in Summer 2024. Go grab some tissues, loosen your shorts, warm up your hands and get ready to white wash your room's ceiling.

Thank you to all the supporters for being their and showering me their money ignoring all my past excuses and delays, trust me if I could meet you all in person I would happily bend over myself and let you have my holy tunnel for all the support you have given me even when I was suffering from that disease. Sadly that isn't possible but still thank you.

You should rather call it update 0.60. It looks like more and don't promise something you can't deliver in the end....

What a joke, lol. (This is kinda sad really.)

Edit: Nevermind, I'm just dumb. That's what I get for not reading properly and double-checking things.

Just a friendly reminder of what stoper COULD do, and what he IS doing.

This is the same guy who acts like he "needs" several months to create 2-3 super short animations with 40-50 renders each, or ~2 second long loops. The same guy who said in one of his devblogs last year that he'd need weeks to create these animations, which in the end took months. I guess that's what's happening when you're barely working.

That statement is from 2018, mind you. For those who don't know, 2 year old computer tech is considered to be completely outdated. Software to render images or animations like DAZ, Blender & Co was also much less optimized. This was more than 5 years ago. When 2018 was a 5-shot revolver, 2023 is in comparison a fully automatic rifle with extended magazine. And then there's actually people who still believe when stoper talks about his "details" taking so much time. "Details" he managed to create in 2-3 months at one point, whereas now it takes him up to a year for a single, tiny update.

And here we have a statement from March 2019, almost a year after stoper started his own project. Criticizing and insulting another fellow developer (AWAM's Lust&Passion, still known to be one of the slowest developers around) in a discussion revolving around development time and hiring help to speed things up. You know, back then stoper actually put in the effort to back his statements up. But oh surprise; in the current year, this developer which stoper loved to criticize, releases updates every 2-3 months with more renders+animations than stoper is able to release within an entire year. And both their games are of similar render quality.
What a clown, huh?

Anyway, have a nice day..or night. Until the next devblog arrives!

Cheers
I will always repeat that making adult VNs is basically a test of one's soul or spirit once they start to bring in some money, lol.

It's a test that asks the question of whether or not you care about the act of creating art (even pornographic) or you like milking for cash.

Basically, once presented with an income that requires no guarantee of work...will you still work? That's the test and, sadly, most fail it. Once money gets involved it forces this person sitting in front of a computer screen to answer the question of WHY they're doing it and most aren't doing it for the love of the artform.

I've followed several developers from nothing but hopes to making a solid living. Most of them worked their asses off until they reached their financial goals and then they slowed it down not long after. (In one case, a dev worked like hell for almost 4 years before finally getting the amount of support they were looking for to quit their day job and sure enough... they openly stated they will be posting slower updates from now on for health reasons. They've just started their second game too.)

Only ONE dev kept consistently posting actual updates and working hard after starting to make good money. I happily support them on Patreon and they're working on their FOURTH game at this point with a fifth game planned.

Everyone deserves a break though so I understand taking a month or two off a year but there's a limit to dragging your feet. I've been learning game development myself as a hobby and have several projects going on so they can't claim I don't know how much work is involved and how things are done, lol.

Absolutely. It's not easy by any means. It's not back breaking labor but it's also not the case of waking up, clicking the mouse once and suddenly you have a render. DAZ sucks to work with, haha. It just does.

So everyone deserves a break but, again, once you make money that isn't tied to a guarantee of work (like a real job) you learn who the dev is as a person. You learn about why they make anything, be it adult themed or not.
Some very few just love to create. They wanna tell stories and even if one is super successful they'll finish it at a good clip and make another.

The typical smut peddler (lol) isn't that. They started because they liked a render or VN they found. They tried it out and whipped something up that others liked. Then money came and after they've came (in another way) 1000000x to whatever they made they're sick of it. It's just free money when you become a milker and who doesn't like free money?

It's a shame that most are built that way.

Free money only because people continue to support, so they like this attitude and I have more questions to them, not to Dev.

Honestly, I think many people who subscribe for a couple dollars a month over time just forget about it. What's 2-3 dollars on your credit card, you don't even notice it. Will you even notice upwards of $25 if your making good money, probably not. After all they probably spend way more for gas and dining out a month. So they just pay the credit card bill without seeing it.
