I'll admit that I almost, ALMOST, gave Stoper a bit of credit because crowds can tax a system. But you're right, he's done it before and he has a super powerful system, so it shouldn't be that heavy of a lift. I've done a little bit of work with scenes with 5+ characters and it's definitely a lot of work, but nothing he can't handle. Unless he's trying to build a scene with like 30 high res characters on screen, he really has no excuse.He's rendered crowded scenes before using his ancient GPU. Now that he's got the 4090, even crowded scenes are only a matter of minutes to render. So god knows why he'd even bring up memory issues now that he's got a top of the line GPU with probably 100 times the power compared to his old one, especially since he's never mentioned any issues with that when he was still using the old GPU either. It's nonsense. The only thing that's unchanged is the work required to set these renders up. Like posing, assets, lighting etc. Everything else is much easier and faster with a 4090. That is if you actually work. From nothing comes nothing.
This statement about taking full advantage of his double rig is pretty much pointless aswell as he's only got 2 hands and 2 eyes to work with. The only thing his second (old) computer could be used for is to render animations while being able to keep working on regular renders on his new computer, or vice versa. Actually the other way around would be more time efficient as his new rig should render even longer animations within hours, and since he's barely able to create a single render per day, his new rig isn't really doing much to speed things up anyway.
Everything he said at the end of last year concerning the development speed and possibly being able to work faster with his new computer is complete nonsense, as render times had never been the issue. Doesn't change anything when the developer needs 6+ months until he starts working on the next update.
This devblog is just more of the same crap in a different wrapper. Can only agree with what umby said.

Yo, what the fuck. I faintly remember this game appearing on this site in 2018 and after ~5 years the supporters barely got anything. Thank god I never supported the Dev financially but that's just Problem in this "industry" as a consumer.

Listen, I followed a Dev who recently faked their own death for the second time. There is absolutely no way I will believe ANY excuses now for slow progress, little/no transparency and complete lack of respect for the people who support the work financially. His patreon might be filled with posts about how much work he's doing but the last time I checked the posts were about 2 months out from each other and gave away nothing but "I decided to spend time re-rendering clothes in the closet.
I said it once, I'll say it again, I hate Stoper with a passion. He is one of the laziest, excuse-ridden devs I've ever come across. I have been part of this community for nearly 8 years and I have to say there are echoes of devs who have abandoned projects within his posts and his releases. It's been almost a year since the last update and I can guarantee you all now that when/IF we get an update there will be about 10/15 minutes of gameplay at best.
There is nothing anyone can say to change my mind about this guy and that will never change.

Software to render images or animations like DAZ, Blender & Co was also much less optimized. This was more than 5 years ago. When 2018 was a 5-shot revolver, 2023 is in comparison a fully automatic rifle with extended magazine. And then there's actually people who still believe when stoper talks about his "details" taking so much time. "Details" he managed to create in 2-3 months at one point, whereas now it takes him up to a year for a single, tiny update.
What a clown, huh?

The same guy who said in one of his devblogs last year that he'd need weeks to create these animations, which in the end took months. I guess that's what's happening when you're barely working.

And here we have a statement from March 2019, almost a year after stoper started his own project. Criticizing and insulting another fellow developer (AWAM's Lust&Passion, still known to be one of the slowest developers around) in a discussion revolving around development time and hiring help to speed things up. You know, back then stoper actually put in the effort to back his statements up. But oh surprise; in the current year, this developer which stoper loved to criticize, releases updates every 2-3 months with more renders+animations than stoper is able to release within an entire year. And both their games are of similar render quality.

Hi everyone it's been quite a while since I gave you guys a proper update on the development of the game. If you remember the last time I told you that I was suffering from " CONNOR EFFECT" and doctor had given me a procedure that had to be followed vigorously for months and got myself cured of it ( for more details about it check my last blog #119.
Coming back to the update I had shared some sneak peaks of what is to come earlier.
I have created 99 renders and 13 animations till now and there are shitloads of them on the way. My pc almost got burnt yesterday because of all the pressure I have been putting on it for past weeks but don't worry I won't let it explode.
That's the reason the update is taking so much time because it is huge in terms of renders and animations in it. In this update we get to see Blake, Mr. Parker, The Mayor and many others get nailed by Connor in every position and at every place possible. I know I have been told on patreon that the only action in the game till now has revolved only around Jess and Connor while the rest of characters are just given teases which led to you all accusing me of blue balling and milking. Taking all of your advices into consideration I have decided to change the update and give proper action to others too.
I know how happy you guys must be to read it since all your wishes are about to come true in v0.56 which arrives in Summer 2024. Go grab some tissues, loosen your shorts, warm up your hands and get ready to white wash your room's ceiling.
Thank you to all the supporters for being there and showering me with their money ignoring all my past excuses and delays, trust me if I could meet you all in person I would happily bend over myself and let you have my holy tunnel for all the support you have given me even when I was suffering from that disease. Sadly that isn't possible but still thank you.
