The behavior in your last post is the demonstration that patreons are considered a cow to be milked...they are awaiting for developement of the game, they donate and your bank account increase but giving nothing in reward, this update is obiviously the proof.

I'm not a businessman, I don't sell anything. This is my work, this is the pace, if one wants to support, they know how. If one wants to get my work for free, they know how.

Be sarcastic when you have something to be sarcastic about. How do you expect to keep subscribers when you keep them waiting months for an update that maybe took 2 days to render. At least when they stop their patreon payment to you they will have more money for toiler paper.

I expect to keep them by producing the best content I can. I'll let you know when it stops working.

Sarcasm doesn't make you money, but it can lose you it.

He announced that it would be a small update in several blogposts. The version number went with a 0.01 increment instead of 0.05. He made a release post (that every patron would've read before downloading by the way) saying that it's only 1 scene in one of the branched paths. And finally, you expect him to treat the people who steal his work the same as the ones paying for his work.

The more you type, the dumber you look.

Come on, stoper is maybe upset because of the amount of negative comments he is receiving here in a piracy site, despite of he makes a good effort in his work. And he can't make a sarcastic and inofensive comment? Don't act like a child, this site is for adults.

the "funny" thing is, you are all right. at the same time.
people are happy to finally see new content after they waited for so long, and that hope exceeds the facts around whats really to be expected. And it sure is normal to expect some pay for your work, but thats not all. When you care about your projects, the excitement and love of the fans, admiration for your product is also a big thing. It feels much better to not just be paid but also see your work being appreciated. Obviously people are enthusiastic enough about the game to care; and sometimes enough to be disappointed too. Wear it like a medal! And piracy... well. its there and its kinda everywhere. Quality work will always get its credits.

As a Dev/Artist you may overthink if its the best idea to present "just" 0.01 stuff after fans waited for so long... that naturally causes disappointment, no matter how clear you were beforhand. Thats the downside of when people really want your stuff

And yes, there are studies suggesting piracy doesnt hurt a products success. But these were focussed on music & movies, not games -especially not independant games. So... Its probably alright to say, such sites as this one are useful to make your game known and then gather more patrons. But its really not the center of the universe and also not the center of income I d say (from experience).

So... 0.01 -better than nothing, right?

This game is here almost 21 months with us but we just have a 1 hour play..

its good to see that you accept the fact that the play time of game is very small ...sometimes i think its about the storyline what matters the most..you should consider speeding the story line

I think you are very tallented but dilluting your attention to too many projects does you some harm. In particular this game so far appears to be your Magnum Opus - I think it should be ranked higher here it's one of the best. However you are just one man and start taking on some other projects like Paola. I'm just saying no matter how good you are you might not have enough resources for this. I think we just all hope you will finish this story as it is quite uniqe and interesting.
