It's great that developers can come here to communicate. I'll make some suggestions:



1, I sincerely think that if your goal is not AAA games (obviously for your next project), you should stay away from UE. UE is an excellent engine for building 3D worlds. However, it still takes a lot of time and experience to develop. Games are not just about 3D features like models and animations. Small creative indies like Oxenfree can also be hugely successful. Despite your great efforts, you are still very new to UE and game design to me. Meshes and character models still feel weird, and animations aren't intuitive. Characters are almost invisible in some scenes due to your misunderstanding of lighting. I know they're vampires; they can't come out during the day, but that doesn't mean you have to replicate the "real" environment. I come from film and television, and we all use illusions to trick the viewer into a better experience. For example, you can adequately light and adjust the colour temperature. If it turns blue, the player will treat it as moonlight. I know that's not the case in real life, it's just a psychological reaction, but it works!



2. The control is complex, and the skills are confusing. After the tutorial, I still don't know what magic skills do; I can't assess the damage of those skills because the target is invulnerable. It would be better to simplify it and provide notes (instructions) for each skill. Players will appreciate it if you carefully guide them through cutting, slashing, and parrying before they move on to more complex skills. You can mirror other RPGs, such as the AC series. If action RPGs are your thing, Kena: Bridge Spirit is a great example.



3. Timing. I was surprised to find out that this project started in 2016. To me, this is a project with no deadline; in a way, it means "never get done". Following the historic Fallout 4 and The Witcher: Wild Hunt (2015), Bethesda is launching Starfield next month. Don't get me wrong; I suggest you leave AAA games to studios like them and make creative indie games to beat them.

Small and creative indie games like Oxenfree could also be highly successful. You are unfamiliar with UE and the game design to me despite your enormous effort. Meshes and character models still feel weird, and animations aren't intuitive as well. Characters are almost invisible in some scenes because of your misunderstanding of lighting. I know they are vampires; they can't come out in the daytime, but it doesn't mean you must replicate the "real" environment. I am from Film and Tv, and we all cheat audiences with illusions for a better experience. For example, you can light up appropriately and turn the colour temp. up make it bluish, players will take it as lunar light. I know it's not the case in real life, it is merely a psychological reaction, but it works!

Kena: Bridge Spirite is an excellent example if you aimed for an Action RPG.

We are very familiar with Unreal engine, don’tworry. Many areas are blockouts, the first iteration with the lights of the dungeon were far much brighter, now we are tuning it down and finding a middle ground.
About your second point, we don't have a tutorial yet, this will come in time.
The game is NOT being done ever since 2016. The game's prologue, which is the content you see on the current demo started to be made in the middle of last year. The content of the legacy version, was created in something around 2 years with a far much smaller team and budget then the one we have now.
The page was created here in 2016, yes, but that was another game: The first prototype of a sidescroller named Kalyskah.

I can see that despite the choice of words you seem to be good intentioned. So I suggest you to take a look on other posts we did on patreon and our development logs so you can better understand how the process have been so far.

Why are the characters in the gallery's scene with clothes? Do I need to see them in-game to unlock them?

We have been releasing montly patches on our patreon, it just took us a while to release a new public demo

Can you try enabling and disabling the streamer mode to force the setting to be overwritten? If it doesn't work I'll look into it during the next week. I couldn't replicate the issue.


How do I get into the basement? I see the exclamation points in the mountain, but don't know how to get to them.

Looks really interesting. Playing as the monster.. But its only a demo ? Doesnt seem I can customize her how I would like I generally like to make white hair monster girls ^_~.

I tried the start for a quick look, and the MC bugged out and had bats flying all over her during the convos and such. She was also talking looking away from the other girl. Looked like the positioning glitched out for a while.

Anyone else have issues with CPU usage? Last version I tried had my CPU temps go up to 90-95 degrees, CPU usage is trough the roof and all the fans were spinning crazy, even when I capped the framerate. Usually under games it doesn't go above 60-65 degrees, depending a game, maybe 70 if the game is really CPU intensive

I just tested and managed to replicate the issue. I'll fix this and publish a new patch asap!

The character customisation is a demo for the public demo indeed. The glitch you said as far as I could test seems to be caused when you toggle the swarm form too quickly. Seems like there might be a function overlapping with the other, we won't have time to fix it this week but I'll add it to our feedback list to take a look during the next. It seems to be a bit more complicated than the gallery issue to solve.

this game looks amazing, rare to see a porn game that actually looks like effort went into it
