we'll probably never see the end of this game but I do want to at least see kane running his own slave ring with at least the slave tess gave him and that cutey that dom was teasing us with
If the Steam version of Season 1 includes well placed achivements, that would be a good tool to track what percentage of players finds and explores certain paths. That could be useful info for future projects ...
Example :
Early in Episode 1 there is a choice between good, neutral and evil (patpunish, samsadist) paths. Placing 4 achivements there would monitor all paths and eg reveal if players bother with a neutral choice at all or how many players go for evil events.
Some players will always go for 100% achievements.
If a path has lewd scenes which are part of a gallery, it's more likely that this path is explored since many players try to get 100% lewd scenes.
After getting out of prison, it been already two seasons and Kane only risen at far 3 (or 4) ranks in Dom path. And whoever dom players mistakenly fucked their path by becoming K4 (by through blind playthrough without walkthrough), thinking that they will be dom in future, are stucked in secret sub path even if they did everything right after getting out of prison.
The story moves with ca 1 day per Episode with the first 3 days in prison. Reaching K9 after a few days at the Joy facility is actually a nice progress for dom players. Too many promotions per day would feel strange.
I guess that Kane can get K10 after Katsumi's game show. The variable k10 is already in the script since Season 1.
If you select MC and are on the sub route, its needed to pass the test with Olivia at the end of the last update 8.2. Otherwise it has no impact currently.
I spent a lot of this past week doing design tasks, projects, and client meetings to make sure I could have some undivided time for the game starting roughly this Thurs/Fri for a good solid following week doing almost nothing else. Call it the last gasp, hehe.
I always have problems crunching and I think I understand why: Most people that know me try and figure out how I can manage so much with my time and still make it all work. It took me a few years to really figure out but now I understand the answer is that I have complete control of my time and how I can manage it in my life. What this means practically is that I rarely have any feelings of being trapped by time, a specific task, or especially feeling "in a rut" doing the same thing over and over the same way all the time. Even my parents tell me I completely underrate how lucky I am about having the simple ability to avoid having to get up at X time, to get in traffic and drive to Y, etc day after day like a repetitive thing, etc.
I can move stuff around pretty well and if one day I want to grind on one thing, I can... and another day I really want to not do that at all... I usually can be flexible and make it all work. Like tomorrow I plan to just go in to my office at noon instead of around 10am and I can luckily do that if I feel like working harder/later tonight (I plan to write until about 2am after I do this post, it's midnight here now).
But I also think this is why the game right at the end is the least "fun" because I am essentially in a rut doing one task for a long period.
But I've tried something different this update and I'm enjoying it more than I expected. I am now doing editing, content, and music all at once and mixing it up... not waiting until every single render/dialogue is "perfect" before starting those things too. So I'm editing when I feel a bit burned out from writing and vice versa.
So here's the weekly update:
Rendering: I did 92 renders this week, but this total is a bit low because I did a lot of editing and I liked this style of mixing it up. I am starting the last scene this week -- a dom scene.
Music: I have added music to the entire dom (absent the missing scene I still have to do) path and the secret sub path. The hard part of music is that Renpy is a weird program with volume and sometimes it feels like the volume can go a bit up/down from a prior play without me even adjusting anything on my PC, but just use the volume sliders if needed.
Editing: I have play tested the entire dom/secret sub path about 4-5 times now and consider it almost ready (absent the last scene) for other people to test. I have corrected about 63 renders out of maybe 1900ish so my percentage of changes is a bit higher at 3% than my normal 2% but I think I'm being a bit pickier too. I've edited the dialogue/renders of basically the entire dom/secret sub path that I have on two "full passes" (just reading/playing) and as I said, I consider it pretty close for other players to test.
Time Off: I will formally be off and yeah... likely a bit of a grind starting this Thursday afternoon and I hope to go a full 8-9 days on the game kind of crunching. Please don't feel bad if I don't engage/respond well especially on Discord as I typically answer within 24 hours no matter what but that might not be the case during this time with messages. I know I repeat myself saying this specific sentence, but I like to do that in case people don't read every post and only see one.
More later, but I think it is fair to say that I consider myself about 95% done with content creation, and I would say about 45-50 percent done with editing. So I'm actually pretty happy with where I am as I kind of prefer 95/45 overall versus 100/0! I could be better but I could be worse too. Thank you all so much for your patience and kind words, especially the private ones!

My problem is not about days in Game, it's about days per update tess release and the gap she takes. So, yeah, even few days in game are like years for us in real life calculation. And yes, i'm 90% sure, it will take 5 more years to complete. And also 95% sure that this game never see it's end.
And you may counter me as "what about other devs, she is doing lot more than them, literally thousands of renders etc..", But at last, when I see the future of the game, it is not that hopeful for me.

If you could choose between a completed shorter game with endings and a longer abandoned game with more content but unfinished story, what would be your choice?
I personally bother not too much with endings and completeness but enjoy the game while there are new updates.
Surely it's a bit premature to speculate Tess will never complete the game when she's reliably been delivering sizeable updates for years now and there's no indication of her noticeably slowing or stalling in output.
I haven't been a huge fan of the last two updates contentwise on the dom side but she's still delivering sizeable updates at a slightly better pace than 1 a year.

That's your take. But, sorry, I will choose completed short game if I know earlier that the long game going to abandon in future. I want complete feel.

Assuming both games had a minimum level of quality, I think most would pick the finished game. If I already know a game is confirmed abandoned, I wouldn't even bother trying it as I've already played too many of them.

I don't know if there are many or any comparable "completed" KG-like games? I think it is kind of unique ...
(Note : I know the "Femdom Finder" threads ...)

We went from a full chapter a year, to a half-chapter a year, to now approx 1/6 of a chapter a year with her now going through major life events and contributing to another IP. If anything, she'll have less time to dedicate to this project.
At this point, Im just hoping that certain milestones are reached before abandonment. Kane meeting his parents. Actually, at this point thats all I want.
You have to take into account that between 2020 and 2025
- the render rate increased from ca 2k to 5k renders per year and
- the render count per update increased from 450 (E1) to 5k (E8.1->E8.2).

Well, I ended up downloading two abandoned games from here, because they really caught my attention. I got to the end of the part where they were abandoned, and felt worse because I liked them so much.
