You need SSD.
Even 7200rpm HDD won't handle it well, an SSD makes switching rooms, rounds shifting during battle much much much faster. (it seems this game needs a lot of writing and reading during these maneuvers, 4k reading/writing speed determines the game speed, in that respect, HDD is a piece of shit...)
My 4gen cpu + 860m + 7200rpm HDD is slower than 3gen cpu + SSD.
dGPU useless, since not that much casual animation = not that much floating-point-calculation
I have an SSD but it was from the same time I purchased mine so its probably super slow compared to a modern ssd. Just a bit of an update, the game is playing much faster after I change windows resolution, but its still doing the whole fastfoward, then slow down thing, just at a greater speed.... if that makes sense.

I had same problem.
Try to change options which answer for FPS and monitor sync in game options.
That must help.

Guys. Please.

This is a game.

The game needs balancing, need difficult and other rpg stuff. Yes, this is a porn game but it's still a game. If you want only the artwork there's no point in playing it, just ask anyone to extract the game and make a CG folder so you can jerk off to the art. Want something that the game doesn't offer? mod it. Want a different art? Edit it. Don't try to push your weird fetishes on everybody if you want it do it.

Are yall crazy for some preg karryn? Here take this horrendous edit i made

It shouldn't really matter if you have an ssd or hdd, since the game should pretty comfortably fit into your RAM. It's not like this is a 60 GB game, its only like 500 MB.

Just gave it a try and there is no disk usage during gameplay. Only during startup which must be the game being loaded into RAM.

SSD is making that difference.
Both PCs 8GB DDR3 RAM.
You can see that CPU quite the same, 860m better than HD4000, SSD gives better performance.
The easiest way to prove this: when your Karryn walks from room to room or start a fight, disk usage (1-2%) happens in windows task manager; when your Karryn standstill, no disk usage in windows task manager.

You would be better off looking in resource manager.
As a practical matter I've seen no noticeable difference between running from a 7200RPM Constellation II and an an EVO 850.
Without testing I'd lay odds that a fair few people with bursty performance are more likely to see gains from fiddling with forced VSync than assuming a drive bottleneck. The other place to look on a low-spec/ageing system is the background crap that builds up - if you have three different launchers and Discord starting up at boot and running at all times things are going to get a bit rough.

ETA: Those who have more than one physical drive might see an improvement from running the game from one the O/S doesn't live on.

Does anyone know some magical way to speed up the game on my low end computer that should be able to play this without any issues? xD

I do have the 5870m while its an old card, I do have it overclocked. But the gpu I don't think is the issue. I looked at task manager and this game is taking a lot of my cpu% That is probably the issue.

I set the affinity on most of my running programs to cores 4-7 and set the priority on the game to high and it actually helped a little bit but not too much. I have an 1st gen i7-720qm.

Something is consuming waaaaaaay too much resources. Maybe the images have too high of a resolution? My game is constantly playing in slow motion, then it wants to fastfoward sometimes, repeat. I already set the text options to as fast as possible. Not sure what else to do.
Have you tried the chrome args inside package.json files on page 376? Mine using old i5-2430M with Radeon HD 6300 series, and the tweaks make my game run faster. Or you can try to copy my package.json file and put it inside the game folder. Also try to turn off "Sync Monitor FPS", "Animated Map Effects" and "Map Lighting Effects" in the option in-game. And set the game to high performance gpu.

This setting actually made things 10x worse lol. took 8 seconds to get by 1 of those messages at the top left. I went back and disable this.

So some more information. I have my windows res at 720p right now, and simply by keeping the game here, where I have to click to proceed, its at 31% cpu. Its also using some disk load here. Nothing is happening and its at 30%?

On the next screen here below is where I select my action. Its at 6% and 5%

I don't know how this stuff works, but perhaps there is some need to fix the optimization within rpg maker? or something. These are still images

I'll give it a try

Update - This worked! Running at 1080p with no issues so far. I haven't tested combat yet but I'm about to after reception. Thanks a bunch. You are a God among men lol

Does the game have a proper fullscreen setting, or a proper override? I've tried adding the fullscreen flag to package.json, which killed the game entirely. The standard alt + enter and f11 methods don't work either.
