Well it is more that he is not that bad, when you take both his age and circumstances also in consideration where he and those he cares for are in constant danger and you know they might not come back any time they go out and lack of more normal healthy outlets, even if just internet porn.

I've taken a game-inspired approach to show when the MC is damaged. So damage will show as blood splatters around the edges of the scene. You briefly see this if you entered the warehouse in Chapter 1 and were munched.
