Well, that depends on what you do, like you can try to keep on the move as much as possible using Hold position (reduces escape progress and enemy energy) or stack energy while your opponent tries to escape. Struggle escaping cost 75 energy in total, and they get 30 back when succesfully doing so. Starting a Sex move cost 50. However, while struggle escaping there are several ways that you can "interrupt" their escape and force them into spending even more energy to escape. So reading what your opponent will do next is the key!

I really wish this game has a sandbox mode where you can do all the sex positions and their stages according to your own pace. That way those who don't like the fighting mechanics can still enjoy the porn to some extent.

Looks like a Steam thing, as it costs just ~15 € for me (currently on a 10% sale).

Isn't is just that DLSite is greedier than Steam?
I'd bet my pants (they're cheap ) MrZ set the prices so he'd get equal revenue from each platform.
If he confirms so, maybe it will enlight a few of us, on why devs choose a platform and not another.

And yeah, I hope story mode gets overhauled. To be fair, the guy got less than a month to work on it, and he's no native English speaker (seen, heard and read much worse though). Story text UI is especially bad - next patches prolly will focus on this.

You're supposed to unlock the gallery by completing story mode btw - in case the price is too steep for you and you don't cheat (and that actually works - I can't tell).
You also unlock hardcore story mode this way - forget about keeping a 100% wins record.
