Here's an odd question.
How does one make sure that mods are installed and working?
I've got a bunch of folders in the /mods folder, but I can easily tell from the character mods that they aren't actually being loaded.
Do I need to move them anywhere? Like the /MyMods folder?

If you see the item they are for in game, usually an accessory for .zipmods, it's working. The problem is figuring out the obscurely named ones as those don't always match up with what item they add.

Ok, I don't know why it does that though. I still use basic Koikatsu because there's no bug like that but Sunshine is better optimized and will receive a new expansion again... I'll keep for studio I guess.
Oh wow a new expansion that is a basically a new voice pack... Still nice but I wouldn't pay for it, I feel like Illusion doesn't even want to release new games at this point.

It does that because they are related in name only, there are a few things they can share, like character cards, but only from Koikatsu to Sunshine and you can't go back once you use it in Sunshine. What you are asking about is part of a mod, mods do not automatically work with just any game, they have to be adapted.
Also, this is normal for Illusion, they'll update this one for a little while and then move on. The original Koikatsu got something like three or four DLC updates before AI Shoujo came out and then later got the Party version for Steam and a rerelease of the After School DLC as After Party.
In that case it sounds like you might have a bad mod file, a file that cannot be read by the game because some of the data in it was messed up. IF that is the case, the fix is to download the mods again, which is easier said than done because .zipmod mods are extremely difficult to track down unless the modder named the file something that can be traced back to them.

I know what modding is, what I was saying is I don't know why anal is bugged like that, meaning I don't know which mod do that and I guessed it's the uncensor. In doubt I asked because it might as well be something stupid as well since nobody care about anal (all the BP uncensors and mouth tweaking but nothing of the sort for anal
) and I know since some modders on discord literally said they don't care much.As for both games they aren't related in name only, they share quite a lot of things although you still need tweaking, you obviously can't just import like that. But it's not like Honey Select 1 & 2 which had quite a few years between them and not even the same skeleton for girls...
As for Illusion no this isn't normal, they are even "lazier" than before (more like indifferent). All the people waiting for AG4 or AA3 will wait a looooonnnggg time.
That is the way Illusion made the game, there is no fix for intentional design.

What I meant by related in name only is that they are not simply the same game in a different setting, the underlying code is VERY different between the two games, which is why things have to be tweaked. If the code of each was identical, the mods would work from the start in both games. Illusion made user created assets compatible in one direction, that being Koikatsu to Koikatsu Sunshine, but they didn't make the whole thing compatible, unfortunately, even though they could have due to how close the games are with just a bit of work for the slight art style difference.
It's less that they are lazier and more a combination of two factors. The first is their actual customers, who wanted more customization and gameplay was simply one of the things sacrificed for customization as far as development time. The second is the stigma against them because they are developers of porn games. Japan doesn't exactly look too kindly on porn in general and being a porn game developer is something that gets hit by that stigmatized outlook on porn, which is also what plays into the whole 'must censor genitals' thing that is part of article 175 of the Japanese penal code as revised in 1907. Porn game developers sometimes even hide what they do from their own family until they have enough job experience to move to a normal developer.
Not sure if anyone else has had this issue, but for whatever reason, I can't access the options / config menu in-game to adjust audio and all that other stuff. Anyone know why?
Is it possible that the problem stems from the Sideloader Modpack folder itself?
I've noticed it's just a dump of mods, besides the other Sideloader Modpack folders that have additional names, like "Sideloader Modpack - Animations" or "Sideloader Modpack - KKS_Maps"
It seems a bit weird that I just happen to have bugged versions of every mod in the Sideloader Modpack, when everything else works fine.

AG4 and AA3 only you are waiting for them.
KKS has been out for not even a year.
I have, never did figure out why, but I don't have it anymore and I'm not the one who did whatever fixed it.
Nope, I have to agree with you, we are definitely still well within the Koikatsu Sunshine development cycle for DLC and all that, I would give until 2023 at least before they even announce another game and, due to popular demand for customization, I highly doubt it would be AA3 or AG4.
The Sideloader Modpack, according to STN himself, is for the studio only, so it would not affect the game.

since Illusion switched to Unity I've always hoped not to see the old games it did,because Unity doesn't excel in AI and I don't want the games it did before with its graphics engine to be ruined.
In fact all the games made with Unity I don't even look at AI because I already know it will be disappointing.
In fact look at what Unity did a month ago,it only focuses on visual effects

one thing I've learned from this site, don't read reviews because the genre porn goes to taste,everyone has their own taste,so the only way you can see if you like a game is to try it,
I mean, what do they expect when Illusion puts out a near copy of the original, near because there are some differences. Also keep in mind that a lot of people that play the Illusion games from the original Koikatsu to now don't actually play the game, but focus entirely on the studio, which is about 99% copied over as the intent was to allow players to use player created Koikatsu assets in Koikatsu Sunshine. On that note, another disappointment, they ONLY allowed players to go from Koikatsu to Koikatsu Sunshine with their characters and other things, you can't go back once you switch.
In my opinion, no, it is not worse, but the improvement is minimal. If they really want to improve their games, they need to focus on making them actual games and not character and picture makers with a story or tiny bits of gameplay tacked on. Even if it means going against their actual customers' desires.
