Probably a solid 1.Just wondering...
On a Scale of 1 - 10, with 1 being not at all and 10 being totally need to.
How much truth is behind the OP's statement of not needing to play LabRats1 is there?
Do not need to play LR1 at all for LR2

Ah never got that quest. she just wanted drugs in my gameIris shows up as part of the sister taboo quest. When Sis wants you to buy her a phone as a taboo requirement, you will meet Iris waiting in line at the electronic store.
I'd go as high as maybe 2? The MC and most of the core cast are the same, but the events of the preceding game are pretty much brushed aside in a sentence of the "whew, that sure was a crazy summer, huh? too bad I've mostly forgotten what happened" variety.Just wondering...

You don't need to but you should want to as it's still an overall better game than the sequel. Much better character models, better story progression, less grindy mechanics. And it's a finished game.Just wondering...

Dont need to play LR1 at all, unless you want some back story maybe at best, nothing much really, the game also is very different in terms of quality and gameplay. I'd say skip LR1 and go for 2 directly.Just wondering...

..Well the game is something enterly different. You don't need to but you should want to as it's still an overall better game than the sequel. Much better character models, better story progression, less grindy mechanics. And it's a finished game.
1. These two games may not as well even be connected and, since I expected this to be more like the 1st, I almost dropped it early on. I'm glad I didn't, though, because as sad as these updates are, I've really enjoyed LR2. That said, I do highly recommend Lab Rats 1 as well because it's fantastic.Just wondering...

The better character models are debatable and upto taste I'd say, for me it was very generic Honey Select 1 character models you can find in dime and dozen around these areas. You don't need to but you should want to as it's still an overall better game than the sequel. It doesn't take much to be better than the ugly mannish faces in this. Honey Select is nothing special but it's popular because it works. The better character models are debatable and upto taste I'd say, for me it was very generic Honey Select 1 character models you can find in dime and dozen around these areas.
You must be joking. It's a much shorter game, first of all, and payoff from actions is much more immediate. The progression isn't caught up in a complicated economic simulator or anything.the game CAN be much more grindy than the second part
No different than usual. If you're accustomed to having easy access to console you may just have gotten used to the mod or used something like the 00dirtycheater.rpy file I found somewhere on these boards and have always used for that purposeJust a heads up this version requires Unren to use console commands
I agree, I played the game for a while now and in terms of changes made to the game, there was always a wall of text (changelog), while the updated content was sparse. As for example "Nora research traits are no longer impossible to improve the mastery of - instead, they require a significant amount of Clarity to unlock. It is still possible to put the trait into a serum and study it by experimenting on a person." which seems more like a bug fix to me rather than additional content and that was only a single point out of many. The porn part of the game was stale for quite a while and while I appreciate additional dialogues and story expansions, we got to keep in mind that this is not text-based game, plot can't be the only thing that gets improved here. (The fact that 2/3 female faces look like a foot doesn't help either.according to the changelog, nothing notable has changed. guess those models will look like shit forever and the game will continue to be more of a chore than a porn game. last time i played this, all i did was getting enough money to get all the drugs and when i was finally getting to the point to shape them they way i wanted em to be, it was a very shallow experience with no depth and story behind it.
the Nora research trait thing used to be "impossible" to raise mastery via research because by design the player was supposed to make a serum with the Nora trait and use it on a subject and then observe them to raise mastery - something you can do for all traits btw. This was the original "tutorial" of sorts for that mechanic, so Vren wrote it in the code that research for mastery of the Nora traits would be infeasible. But enough players didn't read the text Steph says during that scene and then complained that research was taking forever - again because they didn't read the fing words on the screen - that Vren changed it to make the game easier. It was working as intended, but people are stupid so he finally dumbed it down to the least common denominator. yaaay...?I agree, I played the game for a while now and in terms of changes made to the game, there was always a wall of text (changelog), while the updated content was sparse. The characters from LR1 look better/different because that used Honey Select, LR2 is like Blender or something equally free. I agree they looked better, but definitely generic once you see some other games that also use Honey Select, and so hilariously shiny they look like the characters were shrink-wrapped. But yes, game loops in LR1 much simpler. However, simpler game loops also reduce chances for game growth, can really limit final game product.Have the characters been updated yet? Been watching this since it first came out (loved LR1), but couldn't stand playing it due to the women looking like bricks (imho). Hoping the characters from LR1 will look the same when this is complete.
I understand that. I'm not asking for much, just that the models won't appear in any nightmares and the recurring women (at the very least) have the same skeletal structure. I still remember my reaction to seeing Steph again. I was like [wut? ... who? HER?! HOW!?]The characters from LR1 look better/different because that used Honey Select, LR2 is like Blender or something equally free. LR2 deliberately has a more complex game so that it can also randomize introduction of randomly generated characters, instead of LR1's exact set of 5, AND ONLY 5! Don't get me wrong, I agree that at some point Vren gonna have to add some more characters models (fat and crazy muscular at a minimum, some peeps are into that stuff). But that is kinda scut work, since so many blobs to move around (ie, no skeletal system for character models, as far as I can tell). And yes, the faces do look ridiculous. Maybe not like feet, but barely like faces...
I wish the Dev would fix the faces. Most of them are atrocious.I wish dev would implement more poses for fully naked women (where all the graphics of other clothes for the pose are not needed).
