When you first start writing/coding these VNs, sometimes these little details just aren't apparent at the time. I had no idea, for example, people would feel so differently about the word "pet". It wouldn't be that difficult to recode things so that people can name the MC (first AND last name). But changing the (pet) so that what you call them versus what they call you will surely make the Pantherian custom look weird. And it would also make things complicated where I'd have to either make everyone start a new game, or add extra coding so that you have to rename characters, save, then add a 'jump' to the latest release. Doing that brings other questions like, how long do I keep it there? It will just make things messy.

Someone else suggested adding menu choices where you can name the characters there (instead of at the beginning of the game). I think I know how to do that, but haven't tried yet. I'll have to experiment to see. I don't like that people have to add mods in order to get the game they want, so I do want to address this somehow. But I also don't want to make things over complicated in the process.

I would think if someone really wanted to change the term "pet" they would have done it during initial startup when that was provided as an option when the player gets to rename the MC. If they forgot, it is not the Dev's fault nor the Dev's responsibility to change anything else just for those that did not take the opportunity when it presented itself. Of course, learning how to code something new or different into a game is always a beneficial endeavor either way. So far as having a different term to use for the Nekos as opposed to what the Nekos call the MC really is not a big deal I would think. Most terms of endearment among humans includes such neutral ones as "dear," "honey," "love" etc. just to name a few. It is not something most people think about or concern themselves with overmuch basically.

Is there something wrong with MC's testosterone? He has had over a month of downtime but hasn't managed to consumate his relationship with only six women? Even without superpowers, I know I could have managed a romantic interlude with each of them in that amount of time. I think his metal skeleton might be depressing his testosterone. I think we should ask Chef to repace his coffee with dark hot chocolate, and increase his intake of green leafy vegetables. Plus we could all chip in and get him a bunch of Total-T. What do the rest of you think?

What I think is that's glossed over so we actually see the consummation but don't have to sit around waiting for a space station to finish.

I didn't even consider it a typo since Star Trek has used the phrase "solar day".

I intended to say simply "a sol is..." and had "day on earth" while typing and so... hence the typo. That's how they usually happen for me anyway
I generally spell/grammar check stuff pretty well, but I still miss a lot of little things like that. Someone else actually pointed it out to me a few days after release.

After the last 'debate' I got into with someone over here, I'd stopped posting. But you asked your question so politely, I'll answer.

Yes, I have talked about the Rin scene. Probably more than I should need to because everyone seems to forget that these games are still in development, the story is still being developed. Most try to 'read ahead' too much and start worrying about this or that and it frustrates me (which is why I tend to get too defensive - so I stopped posting here).

To answer your question though - Rin is the only character that will be seen in Last Human from here on out. As most of you know, I rewrote the scene with Lili (because even I began to see how ridiculous it was to bring her over to LH). Serenity MC still visited LH MC in that scene. Anyway, the scene with Rin has a purpose, or I wouldn't put it in there. LH MC turned away from her when she confessed to him, but no one seemed to pay much attention to that. It's almost as if - as soon as the words were uttered from Rin's mouth, some folks just stopped right there and freaked out, clicked through the dialogue without paying much attention to the images on the screen.

I have no plans for LH MC and Rin to hook up. I NEVER DID. If some people would have just waited a few updates and let the story develop there, you would see it is just setting up the way Rin will act in LH. And how Rin feels about LH MC is going to directly affect one of the missions the Aurora and crew will face in a future episode.

While I'm here, might as well give an update to those who follow because there are a lot of good people here that follow me. I took a few weeks break from working on the game. Between fighting depression, and too many other personal matters, there was no creativity. I was ready to just stop completely, so it was the best I could do (for myself). Now I am back to work on the game, still in coding process but that is now well beyond the halfway point. It's a big update with many sex scenes, all of them have choices with several ways to play the scene, not something I've done a lot in the past but have been trying to implement more. People seem to like having options for the sex scenes (and I do too). But doing so does make more work because I'm basically writing multiple scenes for each. So yeah, it will take a bit longer. But I think most will be pleased with it. No episode I've done yet on any of my games has more sex than episode 4 of Serenity. It's so much that your head will be spinning after the first two, and I'm sure this will garner me more complaints that things move too fast. But I have decided to move forward however I write this thing, reviews/complaints be damned. It is the only way I can progress and get this done, while keeping my sanity.

Anyway, all the best you guys...

I mean this with absolutely NO offense to anyone here who is a fan of my games... But I no longer care what anyone thinks and will no longer allow myself to get offended. Take care there N2TheFire and glad to hear you are back to development assuming you are feeling better than before. Have been an admirer of your work right from Serenity days when our MC was finding his feet there. Ever since it is a habit to read your patreon posts Devlogs to be in touch with this wonderful wholesome game; along with reading posts on your website. Can fully understand why you stopped posting but in case you are reading just wanted to appreciate all you have done alongside with dealing all that you have dealt. Much power to you and once again kudos to your commitment which find as a source of inspiration!
