I'm still curious about one thing, do people think Baroque was involved in Ludwig's death or not?
It's stated in story the MC doubts it, but there's no denying that Baroque benefited massively from the assassinations, both in Ludwig's death and the timing being the son dying before the ritual and then Ludwig dying just after he claimed the King Sigil (Baroque couldn't gain rights to it until after Ludwig was crowned, which made him the Heir Apparent since Ludwig had no child by that point with his sons death). And despite the MC's claims, he never would have needed to reveal his lineage to convince the enemy into assassinating Ludwig.
But this also flies in the face of Baroque's attitude leading up to the final battle, there's no doubt he was trying to get Ludwig to take the descendant issue seriously, and if Ludwig had followed his advice Baroque may have lost his chance so pressuring him into accepting concubines to get more children would have worked against that plan (it's also clear that he appealed to the route heroines regarding it too, since they offer to become Ludwig's mistresses but get turned down). Baroque also had no input in the spy being hired (in Leanne's route anyway, he was back at the castle in a strop after getting his ass kicked by goblins, getting captured and having to be rescued), that was entirely Ludwig's decision in the face of the MC's hesitation.
So yeah....contrasting points, its clear it all lined up for him, but unclear if it was design or chance, what do people think?
