Emmeline furthermore stated to not really be interested in a high life like that.

So when he finally changed the law, the reason for it may have vanished, great opportunity for another midlife crisis! :WeSmart:
How much do I have to throw at IM for a hidden ending where Rockford and Vega end up back together after he crashes and burns with all the main LIs? It's completely unrealistic given Vega's reasons for hating him but still.

Normally I'd agree, but with VN logic, I honestly have no idea. It's like you said though, with it being illegal, I don't see Rockford bending on it without an attempt to change the law, that would play into the political backdrop. Since this is the halfway point of the story (at best) I can't see Emmeline being written off as a LI. Daddy Carrington is set up as a major player so I wouldn't be surprised if he can grease the right palms to make changes.
The beauty of this AVN is that it defies typical AVN porn logic.

Emmeline and Rockford having sex after only knowing each other for a few weeks comes across as very natural. To get that far, Rockford - via player choices - must conform to the man of her dreams - upstanding, loves children, and values family. Once those things click into place, Emmeline wants Rockford's babies.

Impious Monk set up the mansion scene with Jamie (on her path) wonderfully.

I think a lot of the initial negative feedback stems from players expecting AVN porn logic to come into play with Jamie's reaction, and IM absolutely feed into that expectation with the way he set the whole scene up from the very beginning of the game:

1. Jamie flirting with Rockford so obviously that only dense Rockford couldn't interpret the signals (I think Jamie handcuffing Rockford and having her father hold the shotgun during the wedding is the only way Rockford would have got the message /s).

2. Rockford's friends urging him to date Jamie.

3. Rockford slowly coming round, opening up, and admitting his feelings for Jamie to himself. EDIT: plus Rockford taking Jamie on a "date" to the museum [i.e. that seems to be the first time that Rockford has socialized with Jamie alone in the year they've been reunited, working in the same office].

4. The interrupted conversation between Jamie and her mother, where Jamie's mother tells her, "Honey, if that's how you really feel then there's only one choice you can really make. You don't want to spend the rest of your life regretting--" [this could reasonably be interpreted as Jamie regretting not pursuing a romantic relationship with Rockford, rather than not taking the job offer]

5. Rockford telling Jamie his true feelings and FINALLY going in for the kiss.

6. Jamie closing her eyes in anticipation of the kiss...

This is the point where most players on the Jamie path expected AVN porn logic to kick in - despite the warning signals sprinkled throughout the AVN - with Jamie kissing Rockford, telling him she's waited on this her entire life, and turning down the job offer. They then fuck repeatedly over subsequent episodes and live happy ever after.

Instead, Impious Monk pulls off a masterful bait & switch, so we get Jamie saying, "Stop". Like I said, the warning signs of this outcome are sprinkled throughout the AVN, just like the Ep 4 cliffhanger was kinda forewarned with a repeated focus on Jamie's incest trial and the multiple discussions between characters around the i-topic.

The only thing missing from the Jamie rejection scene was a sound effect of a stylus needle scratching across a record just before she uttered that chilling word. : )

The Aghavni route is worth it, not least because Rockford addresses his thoughts on hypothetical sibling incest specifically on that route.
I need to replay that scene again, because I can remember him asking Aghavni about it and only saying Jamie's, not his own. I do remember that we get Aghavni's view on it during that scene.

You ask the wrong question, my friend.

Does the Ep 4 cliffhanger revelation mean Colleen becomes lewdable in future episodes? /s

[...anything is possible, especially now that the i-word entered the room. However, eww! I really am joking on this. The thought of it makes me sick in my mouth.]

Yeah, it kinda took me by surprise on the Aghavni route replay, 'cause I hadn't picked up on the implications of the conversation first time around, prior to seeing the Ep 4 cliffhanger.

disabled people need love too! :ROFLMAO:

oh no, lets stop this, this will just notice the wrong crowd again :ROFLMAO:

So after coming to terms with the fact, that the incest is real (yeaahh nooo, IM is bamboozling us), im kinda really curious what that means for colleen.

Will Rockford now care for her due to some kind of confused loyality? Or just never visit her again? Neither option feels entirely right somehow lol

Yeah, how Rockford deals with Colleen in future episodes is definitely a story arc to look forward to and look out for.

I think on the alone path, he won't give a shit. On other paths, I don't know where IM will lead us, but I expect it may depend on choices already made in the game.

PS - I was hesitant to make the post you replied to :giggle: because it seemed such a taboo topic [and I still remember the sickening news story about that hospital nurse dude in the States who is now in prison for repeatedly raping and then impregnating a non-verbal, intellectually disabled patient. No one knew what had gone on until the patient gave birth. That dude was caught because... well... leaving DNA.]

It seems logical to me that the continuation of the story with Colleen should depend on which of the three options Rockford chooses at the bar. If the top one, then... I think that in order to answer the question of whether we will see Colleen again, Monk will have to spoil the remaining chapters, if one of the remaining ones, then Rockford doesn't care about her. However, I am sure that she will appear again one way or another. I am afraid that she might become a victim of revenge to Hobbs, don't forget about the assassin who is following Rockford on his heels and trying to get to Hobbs through him.

I don't think our MC is an asshole.

Even though she's not his sister, he's still fond of her (I guess).

Anyway, he still needs to see and check her because of the white bearded dude (sorry, I forgot his name).
MC can be an asshole if you choose to be. Just because he changed his mind visiting her while still thinking Colleen is his sister, doesn't mean he will still go to her now that he knows she's not if you're on the asshole route.

Actually, I think, Rockford got himself in such a nasty mess with this whole investigation that maybe he would have been better off not knowing about it at all. He would have continued drinking beer on Saturdays with Sean and Donna Lee, and eventually let Jamie fuck him.

Nah, imo Colleen was what Rockford needed to finally let his walls break down. Without her, he would probably never do something with Jamie.

Or she will be the final nail in the coffin of his hopes of finding people he can call family.
One of the interesting points about Colleen and now Emmeline is that 1. Rockford always wanted a family, and 3. he always saw Jamie as his surrogate little sister. Having a real sister cleared that last hurdle

I was also wondering if the choices: 1. mentioning the importance of family (at the bar in Epi 1), and 2. wanting to get to know his dad (Epi 4) would also come into play.

Who knows how IM will let it play out. If Rockford feels empathetic enough, then he may relate to Colleen's lack of family (especially if Clay disappears) because of his own upbringing, and resolve to be in her life regardless of their blood relationship.
