Kristal is a Nintendo character and therefore protected by copyright. Earning money on property that doesn't belong to you is illegal, even if you put your work into it.

Another thing is that we want this game to go forward because so history, humor and art are excellent and we support the work of the authors in developing it.
But as usually happens in Patreon... earnings and upgrades don't always go hand in hand.

I was a patreon supporter for this game a few updates back, and the writing was on the wall even at that time, which is why I stopped supporting the project. Until this developer loses a substantial amount of patrons I don't foresee there being any improvement. He was working pretty hard and releasing a good amount of content per update and then when he met his support goal, surprise surprise each update had less and less content and excuses started pouring out. It's unfortunate, because I really enjoy this game, but this developer is absolutely milking his patreon supporters and is putting in the minimum amount of effort to keep taking their money.

It was more an argument about the current state of Patreon and the inexcusable work ethics people put up with and defend despite being objectively wrong. If you wanna dismiss and ignore an actual threat to the very ideas of responsible accountability, transparency and functional consumer-provider relationships that's fine though. Looking away from a steadily increasing negative trend is the best way to deal with things.

Why does Krystal move so slow, even when running. Makes the game so slow and tedious to play especially the internal monologues constantly.

I remember the playshapes game had a lot more porn and none of this bullshit grinding. This is like a remaster nobody asked for.

It's just really easy to do if you cater to any niche. This game specifically caters to furries but Summertime Saga has a variety of fetishes.
Sex sells in general though, and since updates are so few and far between most of the patrons are ghosts, that is, they've forgotten they're being drained of $5 every month and don't really check anymore. It's really easy for an amateur game developer to see money before anything's done and just... sit on it. They're rewarded for not working essentially.
Anywhere else there would have to be some kind of direction, deadlines, and project landmarks to reach. Kojima got fired because he was rebuilding every project he worked on at least 3 times from scratch and because of it most MGS games feel rushed halfway through, along with other rumoured stuff. Revengeance wasn't even finished properly because he changed the scope entirely twice, it was an RPG, then open world like Zelda, then Devil May Cry but by then Konami had a gun to his head.
There's no such accountability or pressure on Patreon or Steam's Early Access although you're more likely to hear complaining and criticism on Steam for some reason and also more progress because Steam has refunds, you're also often seeing people, indie devs, who have external Publishers that'll pressure them to meet deadlines.

Yeah.. I dunno why it's like that, they made the map more linear but she still moves super slow.
The dragging the cauldron thing to the waterfall is SUCH a chore.

As I understand it he was directing it, so he had a lot of say on what went and didn't, same with MGSV, until the very end he was still hands-on so choices blamed at Konami can actually be traced back to him. Including the horrible rape tape in the paid-for demo, which came out before the rumours of him leaving Konami began to surface.
He's been since stricken off almost everything Konami has on him.

It's just ugly and doesn't fit into the game at all.

It's a shame. The game has a good start and lots of ideas for development, and the humor is great, adapting well to conversations between Krystal and other characters. The art is fantastic, flowing animations and watching Krystal give in little by little makes it very attractive.
