What are their patreon supporters here for?
They are here to see krystal get fucking fucked in a 1,000 different ways. Thats what was originally advertised. That's what was originally in the demo. That was the original plan. That is what people paid for.
People did not pay them to make some furry, KOTAR, platformer....thing.
theres a word for when people sell a product and deliver something completely different...scam...
Its disingenuous. Imagine paying money on patreon because you were advertised a harem game and then they change it into a guro sex slave simulator. I would want my money back. I think patreon should implement rules against.
Not only that but judging by how infrequent the updates were with making a smaller game... what makes them think that they can make a bigger game?
I see an "Abandoned" tag looming over the horizon.
From the very beginning it was promised to be an RPG, with exploration, and with combat. I have no idea what you're on about.
YEAH! She was my first furry crush actually, and among my first few idolised cool female heroines at the time.
The triforce of sexy game bishes for me was Samus, Krystal and Zelda.
Sadly Other M killed Samus for me, Zelda has never had a personality and Krystal just hasn't been around.
(Midna came along far later but she's one of my main waifus now fo' sho' ;o)
I really want this game to succeed because the foundation that it has is solid, but every update and every delay is a mess and now it's starting from scratch.
Of course, I should qualify my snark and sass with that I'd really like to be wrong and start giving it money again, I've supported so many Patreon games that just turned into excuse showers and delays that I'm jaded as fuck about the whole thing though.
She was also my first, and only, furry crush.
Game development is a complicated matter, and we're creating a game with an enormous amount of detail. It takes Kuja a very long time to draw 8 angles, but these 8 angles will be useful in everything from sex scenes to mechanics. It then takes a long time for Archie to rig them. So it is going to take a long time, because there is so very much to do, and you will be rewarded for having patience.
Imagine this scenario: A couple of my friends and i decide to build a house. We have never done anything like this before, but we know that we have to dig a hole first for the foundation, so we decide to start doing that while we figure out the rest. People who see us work compliment us on how well the hole turned out to be and how much they liked it. "That's great" we reply, "but we kind of wanted a house here". After a while we just admit that we can't get a house like this and hire some professionals who have worked in the construction business for years.
Now some people say that they miss the old hole and some ask why we think that anything would be different now that we hired people who know how to build in the first place?
That's basically the development story of this game in short. As far as promises go, a side-scroller rpg with lots of sex was the promise all along, but what we got so far is basically the gallery section of a real RPG. And all of us here liked it. Those who didn't probably left long ago anyway.
But as i understand, the team basically had an artist, an animator and a writer. And if you notice that they have no programmer even tho they are trying to make a program, then you are right. They now hope to be able to make a bigger game, because now they have someone on the team who can actually make a game.
This is the most accurate descriptor of our situation I have seen.
Except a reasonable group of people would have a roadmap with real planning and landmarks, house blueprints or a semblance of them, and not go on a trip to the Philippines using money graciously donated by the strangers who were really hoping to get at least the foundation for the house finished within 2 years.
They would definitely not expect to not get criticism after having just a hole to show for all that was donated. Your analogy of a hole is really fitting and really sad because it really is just a hole, and now they're digging a second one that nobody asked for beside it.
We would like to finish the tech demo first before we start showing a roadmap, but the game is intended to progress every similarly to the old one. However we want to put an emphasis on finishing areas first. So the ship will be faaaar more detailed at the beginning of the game and include more exploration. But if we don't have UIs, or have proper mechanics tested, what do you expect of us yet? The game needs to be made, and it appears as though you're angry that we can't just give you a finished game yet. Foundations must be layed, then we can give you all the roadmaps you want.
They complained that people were being harsh in the past when faced with scrutiny, namely with 0.8 which was meant to be a rather large release but contained a single scene, and an ugly CG one at that.
Only a really immature person deals in absolutes like those but I'll humour it. Continue working with a system they've already built that is fairly interesting and stable or truck along with something they have absolutely nothing for yet and will likely take another 3 years to get anything, let alone something conclusive, out of?
Well, they've made their choice. I personally am looking forward to the end of November.
I believe that 0.8 deserves the scrutiny, it was a team of 2 people at the time and they were getting severely swamped. The system of 0.8 was not stable, if you think it was then you're simply uninformed. It wasn't coded properly, and was going to slow down into a stand still. That is the entire reason for the restart. If you want the old 'stable interesting' build then you just want a few more scenes with lizards and then the project dies from the inability to pump out new content, and countless bugs.
Dev was getting closer to finishing it which means his patreon bux would dry up, it makes sense he would scrap it and start over lol.
You think the first game was close to finishing? You're naive and uninformed. I'm the project manager now, and I'm not the same dude who worked on 0.8. I'm the writer, who saw the project dying.
I don't really come on here much, because it's a place of uninformed and annoying negativity from people who don't even support us. It's quite difficult for me to make the effort to read this nonsense. Know that I want to make a good game, money is a means to an end for me. I took inspiration from KOTOR, because it was my favorite RPG of all time, and I think the combat will do well in this game. I learned from games that I have played in the past, and those that people have recommended to me.
This game was never intended to be a sex gallery, or a dating simulator. If you want that, then there are plenty of other games for you to enjoy, or you can go to rule34.paheal and blow your load on whatever still images you want. However this game is meant to be a porn **GAME**. That means gamePLAY. Something that you can PLAY. Which means challenges. Which means interesting mechanics. Not dull slideshows.
When the game is completed, in its entirety, you will be able to play the game, win the game, and get full access to all of the sexual content in the gallery. If you do not even have the ability to do that, then this isn't the game for you. I grow increasingly tired of the misinformation this website spreads for absolutely no reason other than to get off on negativity. If you want a Krystal porn game like this to succeed, then support us, if you don't, then I have no idea why you're complaining.
Now if anyone wishes to give constructive criticism, or even just talk to me personally, you may find me in the discord.
