Yeah we're looking at doing some parallaxing, not totally sure yet, but we'll see what we can do with it.I like the backgrounds (and a lot) because of the classic touch of LOK, but I still don't understand about the two carrots.
Will the backgrounds move at different speeds depending on whether they are close or far away?
Oh, that background is looking pretty nice. I'm glad you guys reconsidered 2D. Parallax scrolling would probably look great, but maybe just make it a back burner thing depending on the effort it would take.
90% of the effort comes from character animations. I don't think the backgrounds are particularly challenging for Kuja. However I'm not sure how we'll be able to do parallaxing yet just based on the fact that we haven't tried it before. So we'll need to figure it out.
ONLY? You sure you've been looking in the right places? There are some fantastic artists out there like FR95, fluffkevlar, dafka, mykegreywolf, and hioshiru just to name a few.

Yes, but it would be better without the black border on the characters to give them some more volume.

I don't think it's an issue either, but I wouldn't say it's present in almost every animated character ever. I think it depends on the style.
The Razorclaw will still be a thing. The 0.8 story is being reworked, but we are adding new stuff. You will start on the ship, crash, and be brought into the Razorclaw village as before.
The characters from the old game will be present. Though Cenvir and the Chieftain are getting personality changes. Cenvir had **waaaaaay** too much content compared to anyone else. You should have seen his dialogue tree. Anyway, you'll see more content for all of the characters except Cenvir who will have different content than you're used to. Instead Pot Guy (Galdryn) is going to be doing the more ramping up sexual encounters thing that Cenvir did.
