I've been catching up on the current status of the game and it's nice to see that the developers are communicating with the community.
I'm not going to bother adding onto the whole old vs new as that's been talked about enough.

---

I do have a question in regards to 0.8 to just clear some stuff up. I've noticed in the wiki under the there are mentions to various levels in terms of Respect, Lust, and Submission with each unlocking various changes or additional actions in the gameplay.

From my understanding (and experience), the cap of each was:
Respect
Lust
Submission
199
500
399

I'm assuming that the various levels/unlocks mentioned within the wiki were concepts that would have been implemented into 0.8 (i.e. the other jobs) so even if x-level was reached, there would be no change as they wouldn't exist within the game?
Or did I misunderstand and some of the levels exist within the game but there is no current way to achieve them without save editing to reach the required point level?

Well that's what you get for having a promising game that a lot of people like, deciding you don't like where it's going, throwing it all out to start over from the beginning, embarking on a controversial new direction that a lot of people make it very clear they DON'T like, ignoring all the complaints, and then not producing JACK SHIT in over a year. It's officially abandoned until they actually release something more tangible than some concept art and an incomplete model. Something PLAYABLE.

They released a playable Demo for the new direction, took some feedback, and are implementing some changes following the public's input is my understanding.

Well, I went after the playable demo.
I played it.
And god, it's shitty. What they are trying to do with the game simply doesn't seem to work, nor does it go with the feeling the older LOK had.
It just feels like a terrible direction to go and a waste of everyone's time and money.

Yeah I don't get it, maybe the new version will be better somehow but I'm not interested in playing the ultimate porn game or some shit because it's obviously not going to be the best one in the world, it's still going to be a pretty basic concept.

Can pretty much guarantee it's not going to change porn games forever, especially if it doesn't even get finished.

Save your grand visions for better games when you've actually completed the one people are waiting for.

Agree, i wasn't too impress with the demo either. Honestly they should get rid of the 3D, and just make the game a 2.5D side scroller with a metrovania style map.

i dont think its abandoned as they keep updating on discord
The version of the game that's currently in the OP has been abandoned. There has been a tech demo for the new version, but maybe the mods just

I don't disagree, but technically they have released something playable in the tech demo.

I thought it was Wild Life that set out to do that, or am I misremembering?
Honestly they should get rid of the 3D
I have some good news for you.

It isn't.

Threads get marked abandoned after no updates in a while..
That's a strange system. Especially since we aren't the ones in control of the front page anyway.

And you apparently think that we decided to restart the game on a whim. We haven't ignored the complaints. You should pay attention to the development, you'll see a lot more and understand a lot more.

Yup. That is correct. The 3D was too controversial.

We are getting rid of the 3D. We wanted to take the risk with 3D because Compound learned to use Blender really quickly, and he made some impressive geometry. It had a ton of potential, as you can see here:

It would have been a horrible thing to not at least try to make that 3D work. If we could have gotten the environment to look better with the 2D characters, it'd have been great. The issue is that it was taking too long to do that. If we had more time, I'm sure we could make the 3D work, but people get impatient. So we've scrapped the 3D entirely and moved back to 2D. Kuja is back drawing his beautiful backdrops.

The people who complain about how long the game takes to develop, legitimately need a reality check. This is a complex game with extremely complex character models and animations. It is going to take time, and our pipeline has only recently been going at a steady pace.

Compound is making concept art for Kuja to build the environment off of atm, with Kuja finishing up the massive environment that is just outside of the Razorclaw village. Gizmo is preparing to implement a patch which will contain bug fixes to the tech demo and a couple fully completed sex animations.

shame, i actually liked this game
Good thing it is still being made.

Our team has been called lots of things, from scam artists, to Yandere dev. We are working on this game very hard, as I've said many times, development takes a long time. You'll find games of this complexity develop slowly. We don't have spaghetti code like Yandere, we are making tons of original assets for the game, including music. Shit is hard, yo.

But it is progressing, we will make a good game that you can enjoy in more ways than one.

No offense but when you say "And you apparently think that we decided to restart the game on a whim" and that is followed up on "We wanted to take the risk with 3D because Compound learned to use Blender really quickly, and he made some impressive geometry," that sounds like you restarted on a whim to me purely because someone picked up blender and had introductory level skill. You acknowledged that you took a risk and that it didn't pay off, that's what is upsetting to people and honestly doesn't reflect well on the project as a whole. I'll agree that game development takes a long time and it takes a lot of effort and a lot of people don't realize how much learning and adapting goes into it all but at the same time this project is years old and is back to having nothing to show for it basically. The team made the decision to go with something way more complex when everyone was more than happy to have something simple and straight forward how it was originally so surely you understand the frustration people are having with this project when its purposely choosing to add more and more when nobody asked for it.

There is plenty of truth in that. When this project started I thought it will be your good old LOK re-imagined with awesome art by Kuja. You know, go left, go right, pick up jobs and skills to unlock new animations and more jobs. I think it used to be like that in the beginning but then it grew into something more that's maybe not necessarily all good: walking around in this game is unnecessarily slow and boring and progression feels pretty slow too (probably because of lack of content so far in terms of sex animations etc.).

I wonder if the team would reduce the scope of the game a bit if the progress could be made faster? I mean, all that people really want is just sex anims with possible different clothing options, all the quests and story are just a bonus :p

Perhaps priority should be given to those 2 features, with quests coming in later. Once you have your character art and animations you can then simply add some quests to unlock them without needing to introduce some complex systems.
