So, yeah. It would be both justice and taking back what's mine.
Let's say hypothetically (no meme intended), that a small team of dedicated developers started to reverse engineer and make LoK v0.9, extending the story and content based on v0.8 in the same style and everything, would you in any way mind the development of a such reboot?

They got rid of me to reboot the whole thing, but didn't change the name of the game and just put a 1.0 on top.

Hence the confusion, because they are also maintaining my 0.8 version in their launcher, as if they have 100% of the rights of something it was 80% my work.

Some people just don't need work ethics as long as they get their way, you know.
Quite unnecessary to remove you from the team honestly, considering your skills.

What a waste. Do they have any particular reason why they gave you the boot? Aside the reboot thing.

Ego, my friend, what else?

They thought they'd do five times better and faster, if they took the money and hired strangers to replace me... and time has proven otherwise.
I personally don't have any hard feelings or anger for them, but isn't it ironic that they started with "we can do this faster and better" and restarted it, went on to hire a bunch of people, and with every week or month their ambitions became more and more bloated, the game was supposed to be this big AA project that went into a full game, to the point that they even put the h-content on the "less priority" shelf, trying to make it 3D and all (which ended up looking like paper Mario. Which, tbf wouldn't be terrible for any other game that is not this game, but for a game of the h-variety is really immersion breaking), then after a lot of trying had to backpedal and go back to 2D, remake a bunch of assets, re-prioritize h-content. And now they have been working on it for a while and all they came up with is a ton of art content that isn't integrated yet and only serves as previews (so far), working on a dozen elements while the active version is basically a version 0.3 roughly (compared to the 0.8 they had before content-wise).

Sometimes a little too confident here and lots of egos over there distract you from what's ahead: Simplicity.

Surface-level, most porn games are simple: A character (original or from famous franchises), a scene, maybe a story here some quests there, get sexed, CG gallery, optional cheats with several other features, done.

The Other Rebirth is far too complex, and I admit, a more ambitious project from a technical POV from the way I see it. From any versions of LoK that I've played, despite most of it being discontinued and abandoned, only the Other Rebirth feels too Triple-A.

Honestly, Id be 100% ok with them going for a AA Rebirth. But not if you are numerous years in development and continue to ask for patron money. It's one thing to be like "we are going to remake this whole thing, kickstarter is here, pay once, we make the game, you get it once we're (mostly) finished". But patreon which syphons monthly sub fees at a chance to get a patch/update is always iffy if you have been developing for so long and you start from scratch again.

I have nothing against ambition, it's just how you do it. And obviously you should be realistic in expectations, not go for 5 different inspirations when it comes to gameplay, being like "its gonna have THIS, and THIS, AND THIS". Its just a lot to put on your plate for a group of a few people in what seemingly is (for some of them) a side gig. Idk what they expect for the timeline, but a game like this taking a decade to make is just too much. You can do that for a AAA game, but even there are often games that come out that took 7 or 8 years and are horribly undercooked

Do I need to add that to my judgement when everyone else mentioned it all the time? I find that to be redundant.
i just tired that people try to protect them, they can do that forever talk and people never get anything it's like beautiful trailers ubisoft, but game itself is bad. I still miss this game it have good potential but again, the game is not in good hands.

Well I wouldn't say stealing. But they are certainly getting way more than they should be getting for what they produced so far.
in fact, they should not receive anything, and start from the beginning

I keep the bad things to myself most of the time as I don't see the point of repeating the same pattern again and again

and yes, I think that also applies to the last post I made earlier ROFL XD
